5 Years of Zazz

5 years ago, 1st of December 2015, the journey of Zazz started for me, with the then introduction of Zazz Media, my digital agency set with an intent to build brands online.

With that being the goal for Zazz Media, the ulterior motive was to introduce the Zazz in people’s lives, at the time through marketing.

With time and changes, lessons have been learned, approach has been changed, experimentations have happened and some failed as well.

But, what remains constant is the influence and impact of Zazz that needs to be introduced.

Now, along with marketing, another macro layer that has been added, that I’m super passionate about is to Zazz people’s lives, introduce awareness and a different outlook to life than what is currently lived.

That journey is super long, but the seeds are planted day by day, the impact of which clearly cannot happen in a day or month, but that is what the journey is about.

Even after 5 years of Zazz, it feels like a fresh start, a new beginning, a new sense of drive and motivation to surely make it a 50 years of Zazz.

Action Repercussions

Action Repercussions

There is no action that goes unnoticed and there is no repercussion that happens on its own.

They are both connected to each other, where one impacts the other and the other is dependent on the former.

That is the case of action repercussions.

Every thing that you do has a repercussion, positive or negative, sometime now, or in the near future, or even long-term.

Whether it’s how you deal with your mind or your body, the repercussion will happen sometime or the other.

How do you deal with your life, yourself, the people around you, the repercussions of each indicates how you acted in the first place.

When you live with that thought, is when you choose your actions carefully. Because you know the repercussions are upon you.

Without making Mistakes

Without making Mistakes

Is there a perfect life where you know everything you have to do, each and every step planned out, having known the outcome too, and you reach the destination as well?

Only someone with a time machine could’ve done this.

The life we live, cannot be lived, without making mistakes. It is an integral part of our lives, making us who we are.

Our growth, our changes, our success is all dependent on us making mistakes. Without it, how else would we get there?

That’s the magic of making mistakes that we don’t understand. Avoiding them brings a stagnation where we are then stuck at one point and not able to move forward, if we stop making mistakes.

Own Ways

Own Ways

There’s no one way to any path, no fixed formula or method.

There is nothing that is proven to be the exact same for two individuals.

Everyone writes their own way, with their own set of successes and difficulties.

Each to their own experience.

Understanding that is a powerful way forward, to know that I can get inspired, but I cannot emulate, I have to find my own way.

That is the key to unlocking life for you, finding your own way.

In a world full of mirrors

In a world full of mirrors

In a world full of mirrors, where everyone creates a different image in front of others.

In a world full of mirrors, where people have forgotten who they are.

In a world full of mirrors, where people are in a race to better than each other.

Show your true self to yourself and everyone around you.

You’ll become more confident, you’ll have nothing to hide, and you’ll be able to live your truth.

It leads to you living a freer, stress-free life, making decisions for yourself and doing everything for yourself.

My 2020 Learnings that will last for a lifetime

My 2020 Learnings that will last for a lifetime

2020 has been a one-of-a-kind year for all, a year no one expected, a year no one was prepared for.

It was a year which brought a lot of ups and downs for people all over the world. Along with it also came it’s learnings.

Where everyone had one top priority, to survive and to live, to be safe, there were some other things that were learnt along the way while this year cruised through.

These are some of mine that will definitely last for a lifetime and hopefully helps you as well.

Life is Short
Instead of postponing things for the future, plan them out for the present. You never know what tomorrow is going to look like.

Helping Others
There’s a world outside your needs and wants as well, and there’s nothing better than helping someone out, in whatever way you can.

Adapting to the Situation
Life throws situations at you which you’re often unprepared for. What sets you apart is how quickly you adapt to it and change your pace/path

Physical and Mental Fitness is Important
Your core focus should always be to take care of your mind and body first. Giving it importance means putting your own life at top priority and that impacts everything else as well.

Your actions impact others
The choices you make may impact others around you, and sometimes not in a positive manner and you should definitely be on the lookout for that.

Productive Guilt
Sometimes you plan and prepare and sometimes you’re not able to execute on that. At such times, you cannot feel guilty and take the blame for everything.

A common level of humanity
No matter who you are and at what social hierarchy level you’re at when we walk together, we grow together and we can tackle our problems together!

Irrelevance of location
The world has evolved so immensely, that you can connect with anyone and anywhere, you can be present everywhere, the location has become insignificant now.

Beauty in Nature
In nature, there is beauty and silence. When you can sense it, is when you can reflect and feel it within you as well. It’s these times which you enjoy and relish, which also help you to grow.

Dependency on External Factors
Our dependency on external factors makes us forget that it is our thoughts + emotions that give those things that weightage. We end up craving for them without realizing that the magic is within us.

While there’s something to learn from 2020 for everyone out there, these were some of the few lessons that I experienced, I learned and definitely brought a change or at least a different perspective to life. 2020 hasn’t been the best for many, but at least we can take its learnings and use it for the rest of our lives.

A deadline to yourself

A deadline to yourself

Deadlines solve things.

They create this time pressure, which allows you to not delay something and to make it a priority.

From time to time, if you’re comfortable in that scenario, you should create deadlines for yourself.

Deadlines which won’t define your life, but will help you to solve your problems, create your habits, help you accomplish your to-do lists.

If not for these deadlines, for some the motivation of doing something may be enough, but if it runs out, then these self-created deadlines help you to push yourself more.

Seasons and Governments

Seasons and Governments

The thing about change is that it is constant. Everything, everyone has to change, sometime or the other.

Whether one accepts this change knowingly or forcefully, but you cannot stop change from happening.

You may be hesitant at first, even scared, but sooner or later, that change will become a part of life.

Even something as constant as seasons and governments are not protected from change, even those things change from time to time, in a shorter period of time, or longer.

If those things can change, then how can you not? What excuse does one have to be the same? Now this is a decision that can be taken knowingly.

Unknowingly, or forcefully, you change with every experience, every situation you face and encounter. Whether you want to be at the forefront of this and drive this change forward or be the spectator and let it happen to you (for good or not) is a decision you make.

5 lessons to learn from ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta story’

5 lessons to learn from ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta story’

Series after series, you realize, how with the depth and time and freedom the OTT platforms allow, the kind of amazing content that is then created in India.

Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story is no exception to that, what a beautifully written and created show. This is pure storytelling class. The depth and emotional side of each character allowed the audience to go in the trenches of the story, and not just be a spectator to the story. With every scene, with every dialogue, you end up thinking what’s about to happen, you end up rooting for someone or the other.

Hansal Mehta is a genius. And not just from the storytelling and directing point of view, but brownie points to the cast as well, who have characterized each person so realistically. Whether it is Pratik Gandhi, or Shreya Dhanwanthary, or Hemant Kher, Rajat Kapoor, Satish Kaushik, Anjali Barot, and just everyone else on the team.

This series is simply exceptional. And that intro music is wow.

Said that, with every high and every downfall, there are a lot of lessons to be learned from the show.

Some lessons are learned from those failures, those mistakes, some lessons are also learned while watching the character’s journey to the top.

Thinking of this, here are 5 lessons to learn from ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story , that can help an individual in life, in business, or generally, in their professional life too.

1. ‘Success kya hai, Failure ke baad ka new chapter’

In life, everyone wants to be successful, in some areas of their life, or all, which isn’t wrong. But in that journey, what people are scared of, is failure. People don’t want to fail but succeed in the first attempt.

And this show depicts that lesson very clearly, when they show, there will be a lot of failures that you’ve to cross, in order to rise and move forward in life and succeed.

2. The biggest risk is to not take any risk at all

Is there are a path to which you already know the outcome? You know exactly what to do, at every step, and get to that outcome. In reality, that is not possible.

To achieve your goals, your dreams, in order to move forward, you have to take risks, you have to move forward with that uncertainty, in order to taste the outcome after taking that risk. The biggest risk is to not take any risk at all because then you will stay exactly where you are, or probably even move backward.

3. Trust is the most expensive thing in the world and cheap people cannot afford it.

In this world of competition and wants and success, one thing that lacks is trust. People don’t trust each other, people feel someone’s after their money, someone’s after their job, and in that thought process, the one thing you need is what you don’t get.

Trust. That is why its the most expensive thing in the world. Only when someone feels secure with what they have, can they start the process of giving trust and receiving trust as well.

4. ‘Time hi time ko badal sakta hai, bas time ko thoda time do’

What controls us, and what manages us in life, is time. We live our life according to it, and everything that happens to us is because of it. If time is good for us, then good things happen and vice versa.

Only time has the power to change things for us, but we need to be patient and wait for it to change. Everything changes and so shall time.

5. ‘Chinta chita saman hoti hai’

Tension, stress, overthinking does no good to anybody. All of those things make everything over complicated. At such times, we are not in control, but our imaginary thoughts are, those doubts and stress cloud our judgment and decision-making.

It’s in these moments when we make choices that aren’t good for us. The key is to control the moment, be in control of your thoughts and your emotions, not let the tension and stress overpower you and turn you into something you’re not.

No matter the outcome of the journey, if you lookout for something to learn, you’ll notice there are lessons to learn everywhere you look.

And Harshad Mehta’s story or rather the depiction of that story in this show is an example of that.

What you look for, is what you find

What you look for, is what you find

What are you’re looking for, or rather seeking?

That is an important question that should be on your mind.

Consciously or subconsciously, you get what you look for.

Whether it’s positivity, or pessimism, or finding the good, your approach sets the tone for your outcome as well.

If you’re determined to get it, then ways will appear on your path that will help you to get to that point.

However, if you aren’t satisfied with your current approach and if you think you won’t be able to get what you want, you can change that.

Your current approach doesn’t determine how your future approach will be – you can unlearn what you know, you can reframe your mind and change your outcome – everything is a possibility.

Right approach, with the right mindset and you’ll get the outcome you seek.

If you take it personally…

If you take it personally…

Things happen to you time and again that you may have not asked for.

Whether it is failure, or frustration of not putting your all,

Whether it is constructive feedback, or just opinions of various people,

If you take it personally, then you may never get the chance to grow, to evolve and to improve.

In order for all of those things to happen, you have to accept everything that comes your way, without taking any of it personally and just filter through and use everything you can to your advantage.

All the answers are out there

All the answers are out there

Surrounded with problems and questions and the unknown is how we live life.

We think we don’t know anything and we have to struggle, we have to find out everything on our own.

No one’s here to help us and our path will be paved by us, alone.

However, on the contrary to these thoughts that we have, all the answers are out there.

The answers to everything, whatever we are looking for, whatever we need to know.

Everything is out there.

You just need to know where to look, whom to ask, and how much help do you need.

Then you’re set.

Living a life with purpose

Living a life with purpose

On a macro level, few people live their purpose and get to live that life on a daily basis.

It’s not the same as being motivated or not the same as earning to cover your expenses. That life is different.

What does that life include then?

Living a life with purpose means

• you know where your FOCUS lies,

• your PROCESS is now streamlined,

• knowing how to balance your TIME and ENERGY,

• where to DOUBLE DOWN upon, and

• also, able to avoid the DISTRACTIONS in life.

Of course, there are a lot more advantages to living a purposeful life, but these were top five reasons, according to me, that sets one apart once they have found their purpose.

Have you found yours yet?

Why you should start creating Content?

Why you should start creating Content?

Forget your brand for a while, forget your marketing strategy for a while, because everyone says that.

Not that it’s not important, and that’s obviously the main focus for most people for creating content.

However, not thinking about your brand or marketing, not thinking about the followers and likes, not thinking about wanting to become an influencer, everyone should be creating content.

Here’s why –

– you are able to experience your creative side and delve deeper into it

– creating content gives you the confidence to create more things in your life

– being in the public forum gives you the leeway to constantly receive feedback/ criticism about your process/idea

– when you express yourself, you’re able to strengthen areas of your life that will help you in the outside world (when it comes to writing/ designing/speaking etc)

– testing out your ideas and in the process, learn and evolve yourself

– more importantly, helps in finding your voice.

Every reason has its own uniqueness to an individual, and that uniqueness also has its importance attached to it.

Find that uniqueness for you and simply, start creating content.

Life isn’t an either or game

Life isn’t an either or game

What we have been taught of life has always concluded with an either or option.

You either win or lose at life.

You’re either happy or you’re not.

You either accomplish something in life or you don’t.

It’s always an either or option that you end up measuring yourself against.

I feel, life isn’t an either or game.

Neither should it be made into one.

What this thinking avoids is the process behind reaching these either or scenarios.

The experiences, the learning, the fun – all is lost when it’s ultimately summed into an either or.

In the quest to make life into something, we forget the now, we forget the journey, we forget these moments, all for that conclusion.

Life is in the middle, in the unknown, sometimes in the light, sometimes in the dark, finding the light, not knowing the next step, failing at something and then trying again, life is all about that.

It cannot be summed into an either or game.

5 Lessons to learn from ‘Mirzapur 2’

5 Lessons to learn from ‘Mirzapur 2’

Done watching Mirzapur 2, just like most with access to the OTT platforms have, what can I say that already hasn’t been said.

Every episode felt like a film on its own, with a unique experience, this season brought so much depth and nuance to all the characters and the storyline, their arcs were just amazing to watch.

Glad with a lot of things that occurred, and simultaneously sad with some of them as well. And that just speaks how the show grips you emotionally and ties you into its universe.

Having seen English tv series for over a decade, amongst other great shows, I’m just glad to have Mirzapur on our Indian roster.

This show is just wow.

Having said all of this, I also sensed a lot of takeaways from this season, that can also be taken as life lessons, that will help sometime or the other, in life.

A. You always have a Choice
Whatever you do in life, no matter the circumstance at hand, you always have a choice.

A choice of how you’d like to proceed, a choice of how you want to approach, or change, a choice of decisions.

What you choose then changes your path and your life as well.

B. Once you have set a goal, you’ll achieve it at any cost
The thing about having a goal in life is that, once you’ve set one and truly accepted it as something you want, you’ll keep at it until you achieve it.

You’ll be persistent, you’ll not hear a no, you’ll keep making mistakes, learn from them, but keep moving forward until you achieve that goal.

C. Sometimes all you need is Love
Sometimes you do things, you create this pressure on yourself, you try to prove to others, you try achieving things, all because in return for everything, you were only looking for love.

You wanted this love and acceptance, for which you were ready to do anything, even though you may have no interest in any of it. That’s the significance of love.

D. The ones closest to you cannot be trusted at times
You need to be on the constant lookout for who’s around you, what their intentions are, and how much do they really support you.

Because, even people with sweet and loving words may have ill intentions behind your back and you’d never know. Have those around you, whom you can trust and who trust you as well.

E. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction
There’s nothing you do that goes unnoticed. Every action of yours has a repercussion, in what form, you don’t know.

This statement is almost similar to the concept of karma, where the kind of deed you do, is what you get back as well. How does it come back to you, is not in your control, but what you do in the first place is what’s in your control.

—x—

The best part about storytelling and stories in general is that there’s always some takeaway from it, if you wish to see that perspective. There’s always something to learn and always something to improve at, and this time, those lessons were taken from Mirzapur 2.

P. S. Awaiting Season 3. 🙂

What makes you unique?

What makes you unique?

Every individual has something or the other, that is different from someone else.

That is unique to them.

Could be their personality aspect, their perspective, their creative aspect, their communication style, but there’s always something that makes you particularly unique from others.

Ask yourself that question, whether you’re able to answer it. If not, then that’s something to ponder upon.

That uniqueness could be your strength that you don’t know about yet.

A blank page

A blank page

Imagine you’re writing a book, and you feel that you’re stuck somewhere and you don’t know what to write anymore, you don’t know how to proceed.

Will you stop writing that book?

Or will you try another approach to it?

You have a blank page, you have the choice to rewrite something, to change your approach towards writing, to change the entire book itself.

That is the power of a blank page.

It allows you the freedom to do anything and everything you want with that fresh page.

You can ignore everything you wrote, or rewrite the parts you didn’t like.

That’s how life works as well.

Every day is a fresh start, a blank page that allows you to rewrite your life.

That allows you to introduce the changes to make it better.

You can be stuck at a certain place, or change your approach altogether amd start with a blank page.

That choice to continue is something you have to take.

Expression of Love

Expression of Love

When was the last time you expressed your love to someone, you expressed that you care for someone?

Someone can be anyone in your life, anyone who’s close to you.

Often we think such an expression is only a part of romantic relationships and it seems very clichéd when it comes to the other relationships of your life.

Why?

Who made it clichéd?

Wouldn’t your mom, or your sister, or your brother or a close friend of yours want to hear that you love them, you care about them.

And it’s not about this already being stated, so why be vocal about it.

People want to hear that they are loved, that they are cared for – whether it’s your friends, your family.

Go and tell them how much you love them and how much you care for them.

When you express yourself openly, the other individual will feel much better, and moreover, you’ll feel better than what you’re currently feeling right now (with all the emotions settled within yourself).

That is the expression of love, when you express it, it makes everything better, your thoughts, your feelings within, and also your relationship with that other person.

What constitutes the inner voice?

What constitutes the inner voice?

The next time your inner voice tells you that you’re not capable of something or something negative comes to your mind, think where does it originate from?

Your inner voice is a collective of
– your experiences
– your learning
– the people around you
– the information you consume
– your opinions of yourself
– the expectations of the society

Once you know this, ask yourself, can you trust your inner voice?

Moreover, it’s not about ignoring your voice.

The thought should be, if you don’t like your voice, what can you do about it?

With practice and self-awareness, you can change this voice if you don’t like it, make a more positive environment in your head, everything is possible if you want something to change.

All of this takes a lot of time, a lot of patience, and there will be a lot of setbacks as well. Every time you fall, you will feel like why are you even doing this?

But the more you stand still, the more you get back again, you will be able to push one step further, you will be able to look back and be glad you practiced with patience, because you will be satisfied with the outcome.

Consistency trumps Everything

Consistency trumps Everything

Whether it be anything about life, one always wants to become better at that certain something, wants to improve at it, excel at it, succeed at it.

With everything that is required for such a process, one of the most important things is consistency.

Whether it is working out, whether it is changing your lifestyle altogether, whether it’s changing a habit of yours, whether it’s pursuing a certain goal, whether its a work thing, whether its a relationship thing – consistency trumps everything.

Consistency gives you the experience, gives you the exposure, and most of all it gives you the confidence for that certain something of your life.

That something is for you to decide. You may not like it at the beginning – but being consistent at it improves you, evolves you, and makes you better at it.

Speaking from personal experience, whether it is being in the marketing field for 5+ years, whether it is blogging for almost 600 days straight, whether it is being on the path of self-improvement for more than a year and a half (and also in other areas of my life) – being consistent at a particular goal has helped me become better at it, has made me constantly improve at it and the ‘want’ to go even further than where I am right now.

Consistency trumps everything.

Flawed

Flawed

We believe some humans are perfect in who they are and what they do.

What problems would they have or do they even lack in anything?

Here’s what we need to get right.

We are flawed human beings.

Some of us are good at hiding those flaws.

Some are good at overpowering their strengths.

But, all of us, every individual have their own set of flaws.

As an individual, becoming self aware is key to winning in life and that starts with knowing that everyone has flaws and you’ve them too.

There’s nothing wrong in that.

Own your flaws because they make you who you are!

The real test

The real test

You can be kind.

You can be grateful.

You can have empathy.

Especially when you’re in your zone.

Or when you’re in control of the situation.

What happens when you’re not?

What happens when the situation is against you?

What happens when you lose the control of your emotions?

That is the real test.

The test of your true character.

That is the time when how kind you are, how grateful you are, how much empathy you have – everything is tested.

Cry your Heart out!

Cry your Heart out!

Who says that you shouldn’t cry and that crying makes you less of a person?

Crying is okay.

Crying is not a weakness, but a strength.

It’s not pertained to a certain gender, it’s okay for men to cry too.

Crying can be tears of sadness as well as tears of joy.

They are your feelings, they are your emotions, after all.

Instead of suppressing your emotions, instead of hiding your feelings, let go, and for once feel how you want to feel.

Cry your heart out.

For all the men out there, instead of trying to be a “man”, accept your emotions and reveal your true nature to yourself.

When you Ask yourself for Space

When you Ask yourself for Space

You keep pushing yourself to the limits, you squeeze in every bit of energy and focus towards your goal, towards the path you’re walking on and you enjoy it as well.

However, there are times in this process when you feel burnout, when you feel too much, when you feel you don’t want to do it anymore, but for the moment.

At such times, you’ve to listen to your mind, your body – what message are they sending you? Are you trying you to spread yourself too thin?

It is at these moments when you drop everything, kick back and just relax – don’t overthink it, don’t overdo it – just give yourself some space and then get back to it when you feel like you’re ready to go all out again.

Listen to your mind and body, and not just when it comes to working and goals, but also in terms of your lifestyle, your sleeping habits, your eating habits, your thoughts – your mind and body know more than you know yourself – listen to them.

Karma

Karma

We have all heard of the word, Karma in our lives, haven’t we?

We can believe in it or not, but we have definitely heard of it.

Now, belief is a different topic altogether and I’m not telling you to start believing in it after reading this today.

But, how about you look at the topic from a different perspective today.

First, let’s understand what Karma is and I’ll be sharing what I got from the internet, for better understanding.

Karma (/ˈkɑːrmə/; Sanskrit: कर्म, romanized: karma, IPA: [ˈkɐɽmɐ] ( listen); Pali: kamma) means action, work or deed; it also refers to the spiritual principle of cause and effect where intent and actions of an individual (cause) influence the future of that individual (effect).

In simple terms, the impact of your future is based on the kind of work you do today.

In another analogy, what you do is what you get.

Karma is then divided into three categories, and for better understanding, I’ll write it in simple English, without going into the details.

Your past actions have resulted into today’s karma – the life you live today.

Your work today affects the karma of tomorrow – the future.

And the future’s karma is based on your present and past actions.

How does it originate?

Karma originates from everything that you think, you do and speak. How you are to others, is what you face in your present and future.

To simplify it even further, how about thinking on it from a logical point of view.

It’s a simple case of cause and effect.

You will get affected by the very same of what you cause in the first place.

Now, when you think of it from that perspective, it isn’t that difficult to fathom, right?

What do you think?

Put good in the world and you shall receive good as well.

Be kind to others and you shall receive kindness as well.

Do good deeds for others and good deeds shall happen to you as well.

Not that we are having any expectations from the deeds in the first place, when it comes from a good heart, but to understand karma, we can think of the above statements to understand it better.

Why it doesn’t work out?

Why it doesn’t work out?

Whenever we try something new, we often wonder why it doesn’t work out.

Where was the problem?

What did we do wrong?

Usually, it applies to the changes we make in our life, the habits we try to instil, the choices we make for our life.

So, why doesn’t it work out then?

It boils down to two reasons, either or, you decide which one is right for you.

A. Trying too many things at once

We either try too many things altogether, at once, and end up thinking why one particular thing or all of them didn’t work out, without thinking that we never put our focus onto just one thing and concentrated on it and improved at it.

It was juggling too much, all at once, that’s why it didn’t work out.

But what if you did only one thing and it still didn’t work out.

Where there could be various reasons attached to this, a major one is,

B. Wanting quick results

In a quest to reach the end of the line, the destination, to know the outcome, you took steps and the process was such that you wanted quick results. In such a quest, you could never process the journey, understand it and improve at it.

Apply each of the situations to your problem and think why it didn’t work out.

Emotional Vocabulary

Emotional Vocabulary

RTH24 - Blog Banners (587)

We, individually, all of us have a lot of issues, in life, even on a day-to-day basis. However, those issues get aggravated because of a lack of our vocabulary.

Our mind is powering through the words we think, the words we speak and how we describe our emotions, our feelings, the mind will start thinking in that way.

Because of a lack of vocabulary skills, for example, when we have to describe how our day went, we typically address our emotions as ‘good’, ‘bad’, ‘okay’, or ‘meh’.

Not being able to address our emotions properly, we ourselves have no clarity of how we feel and we end up with a different emotion altogether, thinking that’s how we feel at the moment.

I first understood this from Jay Shetty and then ended up digging up more into this. Harvard has done a ton of research on this topic, you can check out one of them here.

Said that, have a look at this chart below. The number of emotion variants that exist in each category, and how we can feel a bunch of emotions throughout the day and we never even end up realizing them.

Here’s another one, just to give you more clarity, you can understand them, learn them, learn to acknowledge your feelings in a better way through these charts.

You can dig a little deeper yourself, just for Emotional Vocabulary on Google and study the research done on this.

You’ll thus get more clarity and a better understanding of how you feel, and what you can do to change or address that emotion of that moment.

I stopped eating this… (Oct 2020 edition)

I stopped eating this… (Oct 2020 edition)

Changing your life starts with changing your lifestyle first and changing your lifestyle means changing your mindset, your habits, your rituals, everything.

That process is a long one, one with patience and that decision when you take it is game changing.

It also includes what you eat, what you don’t eat, and today I wanted to share that part with you, just to share a glimpse of what such a lifestyle change entails.

Before I proceed with that, I also wanted to highlight a few of my previous blog posts that are focused on this lifestyle change and they shed a light on that topic.

A. A year ago, my life changed!
https://rth24.com/2019/09/28/a-year-ago-my-life-changed/

B. Two Lifestyles and a Choice
https://rth24.com/2020/09/08/two-lifestyles-and-a-choice/

C. The decision of changing my Lifestyle
https://rth24.com/2020/08/28/the-decision-of-changing-my-lifestyle/

Understanding the impact of each and every food item was necessary for me – how they impact my mind, body and soul. How a particular food item leads to more stress and anxiety, which one leads to more tiredness or drowsiness.

What we eat affects our energy levels, our thoughts, our emotions, our immune system, our gut health, our cells in the body – everything!

Said that, time after time, with one step at a time, I have limited and mostly stopped eating the following items that don’t benefit my mind, body and soul in any way.

– No aerated drinks / No alcohol

– No refined sugar

– Limited to None Processed Food
(no biscuits / no chips / no ketchup / breads once in a while)

– Desserts – rarely and homemade

– No Junk Food (pizza, burgers, fries, those kind of items)

Everything you eat is a choice!

That choice affects your life in more ways than you can imagine!

When you live a life with purpose and the right mindset, it also includes you to eat right as well!

Is it your brand or is it You?

Is it your brand or is it You?

RTH24 - Blog Banners (584)

People will support causes

They become part of trends, or rather participate in them

But are they really that person,

Or are they simply boosting their brand persona?

It may sound horrible, it may sound simple, but we cannot deny that, can we?

It’s the harsh truth that needs to be questioned.

This statement doesn’t just apply to any of the popular / influential people, but for everyone who will wait for something to happen and will then talk about it, share about it on social media and then be invisible for the next 364 days.

The question that then arises is, are you really that person in real life too, who supports these causes or cares about them, from the bottom of your heart?

Or is it just for your brand?

This is not to pass judgment of any sort, but for you to question yourself on this topic – you know your answer.

How do you express yourself?

How do you express yourself?

RTH24 - Blog Banners (583)

How do you express yourself, your voice, is exactly the question that you should ask yourself and should probably know the answer as well.

Whether its your thoughts, or your feelings or your opinions, when you express yourself through an outlet, you then get more clarity, you’re able to streamline your path, you’re able to understand your thoughts and feelings better than before.

That outlet could be in the form of anything.

If you want to keep everything to yourself, which is totally fine, you can journalize everything, write in a diary, record your thoughts, or even film it for yourself.

If you feel like talking to someone, you can talk to your friends and family, whoever you feel comfortable with, share your inner self with them.

If you’re comfortable with putting yourself, out there in the public eye, you can then do a blog and write and share everything, if you find your comfort in writing. If you feel secure with your voice, then a podcast is a possibility or you can take a step further, and then do a video as well.

In any form, you’re able to get out of your comfort zone, and even look at everything that’s going on inside you from a different perspective, from a third eye.

When you express yourself, when you let out everything, then you’re able to know everything that’s going on within you.

Just express yourself.

The Origin of Boredom

The Origin of Boredom

RTH24 - Blog Banners (582)

People often get bored with what they do.

In their professional lives.

In their personal lives too.

Sometimes with regards to a particular task or with regards to a particular day or a period of time.

Why?

Why are you getting bored?

Boredom arises, not because you’re tired or fatigued.

But because you aren’t interested in what you’re doing.

When it comes to a particular task, you might not be interested in doing it at all.

When it comes to a particular day, you might just be bored of the routine and might be seeking a change.

When you feel the same over a period of time, that is definitely when you should start changing things.

However, the bigger question is, whenever you feel bored, be aware of what is it that is making you feel in such a way and what exactly do you do to distract yourself from that boredom?

Questions like these bring the change which then changes your life as well.

The value of ‘Validations’

The value of ‘Validations’

We do things to get ourselves validated.

We workout to get validated for a good body.

We buy something to get validated for the coolness or the popularity factor.

We create to get validated for a good outcome.

We give to get validated for the gesture.

These are just examples, but everywhere you look, there we are, just seeking external validations for everything.

What is the value of these validations?

What do we gain?

Does it improve our lives in a meaningful manner?

Or rather isn’t it a mirage that makes us think we’re doing something valuable whereas we weren’t because our intentions were misaligned.

The voices around you make you think that you need to do something, to get a validation from others, so you can stand out, so you can be cool, so you can be different.

And in such a pursuit, you end up doing what everyone else is doing.

Instead, why not get a validation from yourself?

Why not workout to be healthy for yourself?

Why not buy something because you really needed it or because you really liked it for yourself?

Why not create something because you love creating?

Why not just give because you wanted to?

When your intent is right, you don’t need a validation from anyone, which doesn’t even mean anything.

Wouldn’t you rather be satisfied with your own decisions rather than seeking happiness from other people’s opinions of your decisions?

Expectations are the Worst

Expectations are the Worst

Don’t you agree that expectations are the worst?

Whether the other individual is close to us or not, in our mind, we have framed some kind of expectation from that other individual.

Irrespective of the fact that we have provided something of value to that individual or not.

We still expect.

Firstly, when you gave with an expectation, that means your motive wasn’t pure, but one with intent for yourself.

Secondly, what is it with people thinking something will just be handed over to them?

Whether it is someone’s time, whether it is to pick their brains on something, or whether it is asking something for free.

And every time we expect, it’s faced with disappointments.

Disappointments for yourself.

Because we were the one with undeserving expectations.

And yet, we don’t lose hope and we start with the expectations again.

Such is human nature.

Wouldn’t it be better to understand that no one owes us anything?

Wouldn’t it be better to understand that you’d rather give something of value with no malicious intent?

Wouldn’t it be better to ask than to expect?

The soft spot of Perfection

The soft spot of Perfection

RTH24 - Blog Banners (575)

The ones we admire, the ones we compare ourselves to, or compare others to, the ones we seek inspiration from – where does it come from?

We feel they are perfect – perfect in who they are, in what they do, so much so that we almost want to live their lives.

However, we forget that these “perfections” have a ton of baggages attached to them as well, and only the ones who have them know about them.

No one else.

Admirations, Comparisons and Inspirations come from the soft spot of perfection or our illusion of it.

In such a scenario, would you still want to live their life?

Or would you then just learn their ups and downs, live your own life, and try to implement or not implement from those inspirations and admirations?

What would you then choose for yourself?

Appreciate anytime, anywhere

Appreciate anytime, anywhere

We often take all the good things that happen in our life, for granted.

And for all the negative things, we get upset, we get frustrated, we feel stressed and tend to give those particular moments more weightage than needed.

However, coming back to the good things, it sometimes becomes so obvious to us that we don’t even notice it. When it happens, its a part and parcel of life.

How about taking a moment of our time to appreciate this?

If a particular individual has done something for you, take the time to appreciate that individual – let them know the importance of that deed – you’ll feel good, they’ll feel good.

If you’re doing something good for another person, appreciate the person who you got these good values from – appreciate them in thought – you’ll still feel good.

If you notice something that’s a part of your life, take the time to understand its roots and show appreciation where possible. For eg. when we eat our food, we simply start eating it. Where did the items come from, where did the grains come from? Show your appreciation in thought towards the farmers, the middlemen involved in getting this to you, the one who’s making it for you.

Show your appreciation anytime, anywhere – you’ll feel good, you’ll feel positive and you’ll feel happy.

4 Questions to Make more Time in your Life

4 Questions to Make more Time in your Life

Blog #573 - 4 Questions to make more time in your life

Time is something that you cannot control, it runs by with you running behind it.

How many times does it happen that you have to cancel or postpone one or more of your tasks onto the next day?

How much can you even fit in a day?

You can never have enough time for anything, but rather, you have to make time for it.

Easier said than done, right?

How about you ask yourself four questions that will help you make time for yourself?

Ask yourself
– what’s taking most of your time,
– where are you investing it,
– where are you wasting it, and
– where can you save it.

Make a note of these questions, write down everything that you do in your day and then bifurcate them in these factors.

Accordingly, when you’re able to prioritize your day, you can then make time for everything you want.

Scheduling and sticking to that schedule is key.

Choose whom you Follow carefully

Choose whom you Follow carefully

With the internet at its current stage, it has also allowed a good number of voices to be present at the various social media platforms available.

As the audience, people have a ton of information available at the reach of their hands and they have the option to choose who they get this information from.

At such a stage, if you aren’t aware of your choices, there are people who can take advantage of your attention and try to sell you something, which you either didn’t want in the first place, or information that could be freely available elsewhere.

One person’s course is another’s free content.

When you use any of the social media platforms, as a consumer, you must become aware of what you consume, whom you follow and what appears on your feeds.

Understand the level of content that is being provided to you, either on a free basis or on a paid basis and the authenticity of it.

Overall, choose who you follow carefully.

Would you be aware of something or be in ignorance of it?

Would you be aware of something or be in ignorance of it?

If you had a choice, would you become aware of something or rather be in ignorance of it?

Is that question too complicated or confusing?

Let me explain it a bit further.

In any area of your life, there are moments – whether through your own mistakes, or through someone’s advice, or through external learning, when you get the chance to be aware of something?

Something that you were doing wrong, or something you didn’t know about – now there’s a moment when you can learn about it and implement it to your life.

The second option is to ignore it.

Let it be as it is.

By ignoring it, you choose to not learn something new, you choose to not improve at that certain something, you choose to not implement it in your life.

Let me ask you again, when such a moment arises, would you become aware of something or be in ignorance or it?

If this doesn’t happen, then what?

If this doesn’t happen, then what?

Does this happen frequently to you as well where you end up thinking about an alternative scenario if the existing thing didn’t work out?

You don’t know the outcome of this existing scenario yet.

However, in your mind, you’ve already thought that if this doesn’t work out, let me think about an alternative scenario, or a back-up plan.

Instead of living in the moment, instead of enjoying the process, instead of being patient and waiting it out, you decide to think of this thing already failing.

Why?

Why such a thought process?

Why not have trust and confidence in this existing thing and patiently wait to check the outcome?

Why jump on to the next thing already?

When you live like this, then you’re never able to be in the current scenario, but always thinking about what’s next, what else, and be in the future than in the present.

Do you want to continue to live your life’s moments in such manner?

Interconnection between your personal and professional life

Interconnection between your personal and professional life

Would you agree that your personal life and your professional life are interconnected?

Your personal life has an impact on your professional life and vice versa as well.

To be more precise, your lifestyle, your habits, your rituals impact your goals and your work. Moreover, how you work, how much you work, how you handle your work has an impact on your life, emotionally and mentally.

If you didn’t agree before, would you agree now that both the lives are interconnected?

When you better your personal life, then your professional life also gets better.

When you work on your personal habits, you then have the ability to work on your work habits as well.

When you change how you think about yourself, the perspective towards your colleagues, your team, your company also changes.

Everything is connected.

Work on one area of your life and the other area has its impact.

How does it all start though?

How can you work on all of this?

It all starts with your own mindset.

Improve yourself, improve everyone around you, improve your surroundings – it’s all a cyclical process.

A cyclical process where you take one step at a time, be patient and work on everything about yourself and let it impact your life for good.

The Magical Solution to your Problems

The Magical Solution to your Problems

As human beings, we face problems every now and then, in every phase and sector of our lives.

Everyone has these problems and none are without them.

Some choose to care about these problems, they tend to solve them, some dwell about them and let them harm you more.

Nonetheless, whether its your internal battles or your career or your relationships, everyone has these problems, somewhere or the other.

We often think how to solve these issues?

What would be the magical solution to solve the problems of my life?

As complicated as our minds are, we tend to complicate these issues by thinking of angles that don’t exist (usually).

We form layers in these problems, and we take them to a level that wasn’t needed in the first place.

Sometimes you are able to solve them, sometimes one problem leads to then many more problems due to our process.

What is the magical solution to solving these issues then?

A lot of times, its the simplest of solutions that tend to solve these issues, but our complications made us ignore that solution.

Most of the times, it’s the simplest answers that solve the toughest of problems and once you find it, understand it, you say, “That was on mind”, or “That was so easy”.

Before complicating our issues with more issues, let’s narrow down the problem at hand with the simplest solutions that you can think of and see if it’s solving your issue or not.

A life hack to Improving Life

When it comes to living your life, to Improving it, to living it on better terms than now, what if there was a life hack that would help you do that?

If it’s good for you, and if it helps you, then that would a wonderful hack, won’t it?

➡ Whenever you consume something,

Ask yourself why are you consuming that certain something?

Being considerate for others!

Being considerate for others!

Yes, you have to take care of yourself, self-care comes first.

Yes, you have to deal with your problems first.

Yes, you have to deal with your issues, your journey, your life, first.

However, in this quest, even though your intentions may be right, you have to be considerate towards others as well.

How do your words, how do your actions impact them?

Whether its a direct or an indirect impact, how is it impacting others around you?

Is there a positive or a negative effect to your actions?

Where you need to focus on your self, you also need to be considerate of how you affect someone else’s life and whether they aren’t getting affected wrongly in a quest for you to do right for yourself.

Creating New Stories of Life

Creating New Stories of Life

What is life, if its lived the same way, every day, every week, every month and every year?

Do we create new stories if we live that way? Do we create new experiences for our own life?

We might notice enjoy other’s journeys, but what about our own?

Life is about experimentations.

With regards to everything, life, routine, lifestyle, everything.

The more we experiment, the more we try out new things, we end up creating more experiences, more stories, that’s how we add the spice to the life.

That’s how new moments are formed, that’s how life is lived.

That’s how we grow. That’s how we make mistakes and we evolve.

There’s no one way of living. No one has it figured out. You’ve to experiment, you have to try out new things, keep that adventure in your own life, so you don’t have to seek it elsewhere.

That’s what life comes down to. And its really so simple as well.

But you thought it…

But you thought it…

Quite often, we carefully choose our words before speaking out loud.

Before speaking in specific groups of people or on online platforms.

There are people who say certain things in certain groups, but will portray that they’re quite the opposite to those particular thoughts, when it comes to their public image.

People believe what some say publicly, but only some know what someone’s whole picture is – in terms of who that individual is, whether they are really who they say they are or not.

And sometimes, not even that. Some people smartly keep their viewpoints to specific topics to themselves.

Here’s where the real crux of the issue is…

That you thought it.

No matter how you portray yourself publicly, no matter what your public image is, the real you is the person who has the realest thoughts that you don’t share with anyone, or at the most, amongst your closest peers.

That’s the person you are, that’s what your thoughts are.

You cannot really introduce change unless you nip that thought in the bud, unless you don’t have that thought at all.

Sure, you may have an alternative viewpoint when it comes to publicly sharing your opinion but what will you do about your real opinion that you’ve already thought of.

That’s the issue I personally notice, with regards to the current times.

People will support causes, become part of trends, but are really that person or are they simply boosting their brand persona?

Having the UNDO button in life?

Having the UNDO button in life?

How many of us have wished for an UNDO button in our lives?

Just press this button and reverse that decision, that choice you made, that moment you lived.

Only if you could change the outcome – which you wish to change because it didn’t match your expectations.

But, we forget in such a scenario, that it is our choices, our decisions, our experiences, our thought process that got us to this position.

Then why change it?

Instead, learn from it, understand what you made you choose that way, implement changes (if necessary) and move on instead of thinking about the past.

That moment is gone, what you can control is the present which affects your future as well.

Instead of thinking of a CTRL+Z let’s focus on a new button – CRTL+DO.

No human being is perfect

No human being is perfect

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to know one human being, anyone, who would be perfect?

Perfect in every way!?

We admire people, we look up to them, we compare ourselves with others, we compare someone with someone else, the list is endless.

Admirations, comparisons and inspirations come from the soft spot of perfection, or our illusion of it.

Just because someone is doing good career wise, relationship wise, emotional wise, we feel their life is perfect.

However, is there such a case?

For starters, perfection doesn’t exist. There is only becoming a better version, for whomever it may be. There’s no end goal in any phase of life, just becoming better at it.

That brings me to the second and the most important point, said the above point, no human being is perfect. NONE.

Let’s get that cleared in our minds.

No human being is perfect.

Let’s not have that illusion either.

Because such an illusion constantly keeps one stressed, under pressure and in a mode of constant comparisons.

Every human has flaws, some are good at hiding them, some are good at overpowering their strengths, but everyone has flaws.

Understanding that is the biggest advantage one can have, in living their life, pursuing their goals, and ultimately, living a happy life.

What is life teaching you?

What is life teaching you?

In every moment of your life, in every situation, in every instance, life teaches you something.

Only if you’re aware of what’s happening to you, can you be aware of these teachings.

These teachings can be in any phase of life, whether relationships, career, goals, finances, anything.

Teachings could be in the way of success or failure, there is a learning in both.

However, your ignorance and distractions can cause you to miss out on them, in turn missing out on your growth, your improvement, your evolution.

You live that moment of your life once, that particular learning happens once, if you learn from it, you can better yourself, if you miss it, it’s going to cost you and no one else.

Albeit if you’re aware, if you’re on the lookout for them, you can learn and understand and implement everything that life is trying to teach you; resulting in you becoming a better version of yourself.

The truth of “What has to happen, will happen”

The truth of “What has to happen, will happen”

Who has heard this before, “What has to happen, will happen”?

Most of us have heard it, a number of times in our lifetime.

Most of us abide by that statement too.

And to be honest, it makes sense as well.

No matter what you do, no matter how much you plan, no matter what you predict, in reality, what has to happen will happen.

You cannot do anything about it.

However, said that, how true is that statement?

Is it 100% completely true?

I feel there’s something left out from that statement, which we didn’t ponder upon.

Something that once we understand, is game changing for us.

It’ll have a massive impact on our life and our choices and our decisions.

Here’s my interpretation of what’s left out –

What has to happen, will happen if you’re ready for it.

That last bit is quite important and something we don’t think about.

“If you’re ready for it”

Things may happen to you, opportunities may knock at your door, and you wouldn’t even realize it, and only because you weren’t ready for it.

I believe when you’re constantly improving yourself, working on your mind, body and soul, working on your emotions, working on your goals, working on your life, you’re making yourself ready for that moment.

The moment of when it has to happen, will happen.

Only now, you won’t miss on it.

Only now, you will be ready for it.

You’ll able to see it when it happens.

When it knocks on your door.

Only because you made yourself ready.

If you haven’t made yourself ready and levelled up for what the moment requires, why would it happen to you?

Why would that opportunity waste itself on you, when it would knock on someone else’s door who is making themselves ready for it?

Watch, Learn and…

Watch, Learn and…

We watch, we learn but we often forget the third part of the equation, which is more important than the other two.

How do we usually consume any information?

It’s either in the form of text, audio or video.

When we consume, and if it’s useful and adding value to our lives, then we reach the second part of the equation, i.e. we learn from it.

We learn the what, why, when and how.

So now that we have watched and learnt from it, let’s come to the third and the most important part of the equation.

And that is to implement it.

Implement that learning to our life.

Use it to our advantage.

Use that piece of information to make our life better, in whatever way we can.

Adding these factors together equal to you growing and evolving and eventually, becoming a better version of yourself.

The Words you speak

The Words you speak

Every word that you speak has an impact on yourself.

On your mind, body and soul.

Whether those words are spoken to yourself or to someone else.

Whether those words are in thought about yourself or someone else.

Whether those words are positive or negative.

Every word that you speak has an impact on you.

When you speak ill of someone, your mind is registering the same words for yourself too.

When you speak good of someone, your mind is registering that as well.

Every word, the mind thinks is for itself.

It will use it for its own advantage and disadvantage.

The more negative you speak, the more negative the mind becomes.

That has an effect on your thoughts, your emotions, your actions.

How you are with yourself, how you are around everyone else.

Every word has an impact on everything about you.

Whether you realize it or not.

Being careful of what you speak, how you speak helps you in becoming a better person.

Helps you in either growing or limiting your growth.

That depends on what you speak.

Whether to yourself or towards others.

Filling the Void

Filling the Void

More often than not, when things are not working out for someone, they have a choice.

Such a choice entails that you either address why something is not working out for you.

That something could be minor or major to your life, could be a habit or a goal, a dream or a lifestyle choice.

So the choice comes down to addressing the issue or the second one, the one usually taken…

Where one creates “fake purposes” or rather, to elaborate that point, where one holds on to something that would fill the void of not addressing those issues.

If that wasn’t self-explanatory, it means when people join causes or become part of trends they have no interest in or has nothing to do with their own life.

However, doing so lets them escape their issues, where that fake purpose is letting them feel that the particular cause they’ve joined holds more value than their issue, which seems just smaller and insignificant to that purpose at hand.

Doing so may temporarily move your focus onto something else, but it doesn’t take away what wasn’t working out for you or your life and your indecisiveness towards the issue.

The longer you choose to do so, the bigger the void becomes, and bigger your support towards those “fake purposes”.

Two Lifestyles and a Choice

Two Lifestyles and a Choice

Living a certain kind of a lifestyle is a choice – one that cannot be changed in a day, but certainly requires a strong mindset and a definitive assertion of choice to do so.

To live one is normal, to change that completely and form a new one shows that you’re ready for change and you’re ready to step up, to evolve.

Drawing my own story to explain this further, having lived two completely opposite lifestyles – having seen the advantages and disadvantages of each of those lifestyles, of course I’ve drawn a number of conclusions from either of them.

Where one gives you the comfort, but also doesn’t allow you to grow and the other one definitely takes efforts and time, but also gives you comfort and growth, both.

Where one wasted a lot of time, another asks for more investment but gives that much return on investment too.

Where one allowed you to spoil your mind and body, another helps you in building a strong one and helps you to take care of them.

In terms of both of these lifestyles, having done a lot of experimentations of what works and what doesn’t – for me…

Now, I choose to not live a life without

  • meditation
  • yoga
  • clean eating
  • gratitude practice
  • conscious positivity
  • stillness
  • spirituality

– each of those things and more have their own value, their importance – their impact on the mind, body and soul.

It all comes from experimentations and practice – reading or having pre-conceived notions about anything won’t help unless you try something practically on yourself and see the difference.

Understand what works for you and what doesn’t, what is helping you grow and evolve and what doesn’t. You’d agree that, life is about becoming a better version of yourself.

Seasonal Changes

Seasonal Changes

Most of us, wherever we live, have experienced multiple seasons in a year, changing from time to time.

Whether its the summers, winters, spring or the monsoons, we know what each season brings with it.

In terms of the atmosphere around us, the types of food that changes according to the season, the clothes we wear – all of this and more are catered according to the season at hand.

Basically, we are now prepared for what’s to come, we adjust with the season and what it brings.

What this also signifies is something really simple, that humans can change, or rather accept change when they have to.

Most of the people, when spoken to or otherwise, state that they cannot accept change or are not capable of change.

This is, of course, in regards to their mindset, their habits, their lifestyle choices etc.

However, now stating to those same people, how do they then adapt the seasonal changes to their lifestyle, how are they now capable of introducing those types of changes around them?

How is it that when it comes to improving their life mentally and emotionally, they hesitate and avoid that topic altogether?

If you’re one of them, then this might be something you ponder upon.

Pieces of the Puzzle

Pieces of the Puzzle

If you already have all the pieces of the puzzle, why haven’t you solved the puzzle yet?

Or probably you don’t have all the pieces yet, or how about none?

Would you accept that though?

Sometimes overconfidence and arrogance takes over our emotions and we feel/ show we have the pieces already, basically being a know it all.

In reality, its clouding our own mind and limiting our growth.

When you aren’t ready to accept that you don’t have all the pieces of the puzzle, it is you who will be affected, no one else.

Your path, your journey, your goals.

It takes the removal of your ego and the acceptance that you have yet to grow, when you also accept you need the other pieces to complete your puzzle.

Then, help shall be given to you when you ask for it. You shall receive the other pieces, the knowledge you seek, the tools you need.

You’ll then truly be able to have all the pieces. It’s a process, it’s a journey, you can’t have it all in a day, but you need to be ready to accept them too.

Ignorance is Easy

Ignorance is Easy

It’s easy to ignore, it’s easy to say that this isn’t for me, it’s easy to say that this doesn’t suit me.

Those are the easy answers.

What’s difficult is to understand this ignorance.

Understand that you have limited knowledge, you don’t have all the pieces of the puzzle.

That you’re probably ignoring because you’re in your comfort zone and you don’t have to do much in that place.

Anything else outside of that will require efforts.

So why not just ignore and say this isn’t for me?

If you experiment, you try it out, and then you say it isn’t for me, makes sense.

That says you’re ready to try and evolve and keep on improving.

Those are the difficult steps that give you better outputs.

Easy steps start from ignorance.

Whether you’re ignoring or you’re ready to try, depends on you and your mindset.

In the end, it affects your life and no one else’s.

Living Upside-down for a Day

Living Upside-down for a Day

We live a life of routine, schedules and habits.

Don’t we?

Every day has a certain routine, there are certain habits that you repeat every day, every hour.

And that’s how life is.

A bunch of habits and routine that guides you on the path you’re walking.

However, no matter how much you love it, you love the process, you love the journey, but sometimes you need change.

Sometimes you feel if something could be different.

And that’s where living upside-down for a day comes in.

Not literally upside-down, of course.

But overturning your day, a specific day, completely different than the rest of the days.

The rest of the days, you pursue your dreams, your goals, you live your habits and your schedule.

But this one day, you do none of it. You don’t do any of those routines. You let go of your habits (most of them, at least).

Such a day gives you a different aspect to life, a different glimpse of it.

You get some change, and you then become ready to bounce back.

This day could come once a week, once a fortnight or once a month.

It’s up to you to decide that.

Based on your energy levels, based on how long and how much can you push yourself without feeling burnt out.

But definitely try it out.

Live upside-down for a day.

Just not literally.

Digging deeper for the truth

Digging deeper for the truth

We think we know the truth, our version of it at least and we then remain content with it.

But, the truth is like an egg.

Let me elaborate that statement.

The truth we know is like the outer shell of that egg.

In order to get beyond what you know and have more clarity, you have to break that outer shell.

You have to dig deeper.

Will you find the truth?

You never know until you dig.

Until you’re curious to know more.

To explore more.

To learn more.

Until you’re ready to see beyond your own truth.

Until you’re ready to accept another perspective to your own.

For that you will have to keep digging deeper.

For the truth.

Then you can match it with what you knew before.

And be thankful that you dug deeper.

Knowing yourself is a journey

Knowing yourself is a journey

One of the best things about life is about being self aware, about knowing yourself.

If you know yourself, if you’re aware of who you are, you are aware of your thoughts, your emotions, your interests.

Knowing that, or rather understanding that about yourself is an advantage few people get to experience.

However, knowing yourself is not a destination.

There isn’t an end point to this process.

What we have to understand is we are complicated beings, changing, evolving on a daily basis.

The more we learn, the more experience we gain, the more our thoughts change, our actions change, our emotions change.

Not just those, but our interests change too, our plans, our purpose, everything.

Knowing that, one of the biggest things we need to realize is that knowing ourself is a journey.

Of course the key is to become self aware as a process, as a tool to unlock our lives, not just to unlock a closed door.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction

Have you heard of this statement before – Every action has an equal and opposite reaction?

Yes, there’s a lot of scientific significance to it and yes, it’s applicable to most scenarios.

But, today we’re applying its meaning to mindset and learning its significance in that region.

Usually, there are tenseful, aggressive situations between two or more people which start with an action and a reaction.

It doesn’t matter who initiates the action here, as long as there is a reaction which is then equal and opposite to it and thus, leading to those aggressive, verbal or physical, tenseful situations.

What do the equal and opposite reactions mean?

Such types of reactions signify that you’ve given in to the situation and you’re not in control anymore.

These reactions are as bad as, if not worse, the initiated action.

On the contrary, irrespective of the action, when you’re able to hold your cool and analyze the situation before reacting means you’ve evolved and now your response will be better than before, you’ll be in control and technically, there would be no rise to a situation of any kind.

This is of course something that needs to be understood by the initiator as well, nonetheless, if the one reacting can learn as well, then why not.

Status

Avoiding Burnout

Burnout is not something that you can avoid, but rather something for which you either take steps to control it beforehand or take care of it once it happens.

In most cases, you feel the burnout when you’ve given your all to the process, all your efforts, all your energy, and as an outcome of that process, you feel the burnout.

Irrespective of whether the outcome was in your favour or not.

Burnout is something that can happen anytime, to anyone.

And its not just towards your work or your work timings, but you can feel it towards everything else in life too.

But, how can you avoid it or rather control it before or after?

Well, it starts with becoming self aware of yourself, who you are, your needs, your interests, your energy levels, understanding when you need a break, when do you need to start taking care of yourself, when do you need to take a step back and analyze the entire situation again.

When you realize that the scale isn’t balanced anymore and when it is tilting and it’ll impact you, is when you need to start taking the steps towards it.

The reverse option is unavailable

The reverse option is unavailable

Does a special car exist, only with the forward gear and the rearview mirror, where the reverse option is unavailable?

Where the car would move forward with occasional halts and just a few peaks into the rearview mirror, time and again?

Such a car may not exist, but that’s how our life works.

We move forward in life, with occasional halts here and there.

There is just no option to ‘reverse’ or go back in life.

All you have is the rearview mirror to look back and learn from whatever happened. You cannot do anything to change it.

You look back a few times, you learn and you move forward in life.

That’s just how life works, it’s just whenever we realize it.

Peeling off the Layers

Peeling off the Layers

Once we know something, we think we know it all, until we ourselves discover something else.

It is then when we realize that what we knew was just the outer layer and there are multiple layers beneath it as well.

You can, at that moment, choose to be content with the outer layer or choose to peel off the other layers and know more.

The more layers you peel off, the more you discover, the more you learn.

It is in that process when you evolve and improve yourself and the path that you were walking on.

Dependency on External Factors

Dependency on External Factors

Our life is a mixture of internal and external factors that run our life.

Instead of the focus being internal with the help or rather an addition of external, things have just changed over time.

We have become so dependent on external factors to run our life that we have forgotten that the magic is within us.

What is this magic?

It is your mind, body and soul.

It is your thoughts, your emotions, your journey that makes those external factors what they are!

But alas, we don’t think about any of it and rather think its those external things that give us everything we want.

We then desire and crave for those things to live.

Our dependency towards them ultimately makes them our weakness too!

Journey of a Moment

Journey of a Moment

Have you ever thought about the journey of a moment?

What’s the journey about? What does it entail?

The moment comes, the moment goes and then the moment is in memories.

That’s the simple explanation of the journey of a moment.

We live in the now. Not the past. Not the future.

Every moment we live then passes on and we cannot change anything about it. We have already lived it.

Every moment of the future cannot be predicted, only planned, but you still don’t know how it will turn out to be.

So, all we have is the now – the present moment that we can control.

We can either be fully satisfied in the now, and then when the moment passes, have a beautiful memory of it.

Or another option is to live in the past or thinking about the future, with the present moment just passing by, thus regretting every moment thereafter.

That’s what the journey of a moment entails. It begins with a choice and ends with it.

The fix to getting back in the moment

The fix to getting back in the moment

Whenever you feel anxious,

Or stressed,

Or you feel you’ve lost control of the situation,

Or rather your emotions have gotten the better of you,

Or you want to become more present in the moment than the usual…

Take a Deep Breath

That’s it.

It’s that simple.

Your breath controls it all.

Control your breath and you control everything.

Take in a deep breath and exhale as slowly as possible, that feeling of relaxation will immediately come to you, and you’ll feel calm and composed, and be present in the moment.

Stand your Ground

Stand your Ground

Can you be easily swayed or are you able to stand your ground?

Anyone who gets easily affected by opinions and judgements towards them or anything that they do and then tend to change their own steps or opinions are those who are easily swayable.

This also comes from a lack of self awareness, not knowing who you are, what you stand for, what is your path.

On the contrary, someone who is strongly self aware about themselves is able to stand their ground.

They won’t let anything affect them, because within themselves they know what they stand for, in every phase of their life.

That of course doesn’t mean one can always be right, but there’s a thin line between being easily swayed and standing your ground that applies here, when you know that something really makes sense which would actually be an addition to your life.

Inner Pollution

Inner Pollution

As much as the exterior environmental pollution affects us, we often forget about our inner pollution that is affecting us too.

Speaking of the exterior pollution, we know how bad the environment currently is and the kind of changes that’s needed, nonetheless, it’s a collective effort that will actually make the change in that direction.

Said that, the inner pollution within affects us as much as if not more than the outside pollution.

More, because its within us and we have the ability to able to either pollute more or take the stance and clean it for a better inner environment.

So, what is this inner pollution then?

Well, its these negative, toxic, judgemental, egoistic, limiting thoughts that we have within us.

The more thoughts you have of that nature, the more rise in pollution within your head.

This pollution ultimately affects our mind, body and soul and basically everything that we are now and everything that we will be in the future.

To curb that pollution, you need to take that leap of having a positive mindset, a loving mind and heart, a blissful soul.

To get to that point is a journey, just by having a single positive thought or being in a good mood when you feel like it is not the outcome of that process.

It’s a journey that you can choose to be on, to forever curbing and ultimately trying to get rid of that inner pollution in the mind.

Ultimately, wouldn’t you want a clean, healthy mind that helps you grow and evolve constantly?

Adjusting to the Situation

Adjusting to the Situation

Sometimes you plan out something to the detail and it doesn’t pan out as you’d thought it would.

More often than not, there are hiccups in most plans that derail the process.

Can you dwell about it and think what you could have done?

Or rather would you adjust to the situation and make changes to your plan immediately and move forward?

Efforts are never wasted!

Efforts are never wasted!

What if you put in your efforts towards something and it doesn’t pan out to your expected outcome?

Are the efforts then wasted?

Should you not have done it in the first place?

Such and more questions do arise in one’s mind when you don’t get your desired outcome.

At such times, quite often, one may feel low and disappointed.

However, should one feel so?

Are the efforts really wasted?

The first thing that you should ask yourself is, did you really go all in with your efforts?

If yes, if you did try your all, and even if it didn’t work out, well…

There are two things to know here –

A. Now you know more than before about the process and the mistakes you made, so your second try will be even better.

B. Every thing you learnt here, the process, the mistakes, the outcome, the emotions – all of it will come to use somewhere else, where you’ll be glad you went through this process the first time.

Any and all efforts are never wasted, it’s just that they may have not come to fruition just then.

Focus on the Light

Focus on the Light

It is easier to see the light in daytime, it’s the dark when you must take the efforts to see it.

When you reform your mind to thinking positivity and optimism, you don’t do it when everything is working for you.

The point of having this mindset is to be positive and optimistic
– when things are not working out for you,
– when you face a low point in your life,
– when you don’t know the direction ahead for you.

This is also what Aristotle Onassis tells us when he says, “It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.”

At those times is when the focus is usually lost and it is our mind that spirals out of control and makes things worse for us. To not let it happen, you can take the decision to work on yourself and to change/ improve your mindset.

Watching the climax

Watching the climax

Most of the times, people want to move too fast to reach that outcome they were expecting.

Without worrying about the process or the journey, for them, it’s the outcome that they wish for.

But, what happens by focusing on just the outcome?

With the focus on the outcome, we tend to move too fast towards the end, and we miss the entire journey, we miss the entire experience, we forget to form the memories, the stories of this process.

Moving too fast is almost as equivalent as pressing a skip button on your remote and just watching the climax of a beautiful film that you’ve missed out on.

What good is that?

This mind is like a coal mine!

This mind is like a coal mine!

If you have ever seen a coal mine or a video of it, you’d know the amount of digging that goes into coal mining.

The deeper you go, the more and better quality coal you’d find.

Our mind works the same way!

We have seen just the upper layer of it and we feel our mind is so mysterious and beautiful and we have so much knowledge within us.

However, its only when you go deeper into it is when you realise how much more there is to dig.

How much more there is to know and understand and explore.

Just like a coal mine, if you want to find the good stuff and in quantity, start digging. (just not literally)

Learning from the wise

Learning from the wise

In life, there are some with a quest to learn.

When you learn, you improve, you evolve and eventually are able to become a better version of yourself.

And that happens only with the quest to learn.

A curiosity to know more, to experiment, to fail but to try.

Nonetheless, that learning is beneficial when you learn from the wise.

Not just financial-wise, but every other type of wise as well.

Someone who has walked the talk is also someone who knows what they talk and they are probably someone to learn from.

Also, it’d be a cherry on the top if this someone is a level or ten levels higher than you, because then you know about the path ahead as well.

Silencing the voice that isn’t ours

Silencing the voice that isn’t ours

Quite often, the voice in our head isn’t ours.

Over time, that voice has become an amalgamation of the society’s wants and expectations, how you will be perceived and what will not disappoint them.

Not to forget, the society includes your friends and family, your colleagues, relatives, social media and everyone else you have an interaction with.

Anytime, you wish to do something which is out of the box for you, this voice inside your head says, “you cannot do it”.

Unfortunately, listening to that voice, then makes that thing you wanted to do just a dream for you. However, what if you can take charge of your life, do things you want to and shun that voice as well?

Vincent Van Gogh has said it perfectly, “If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.”

Taking that plunge is all it takes, one step at a time though, becoming self aware of your thoughts, needs and wants, owning your voice, and seeing the bright side of everything – there will be a few hiccups, but ultimately you will have your own voice that will push you to do whatever you want, irrespective of what anyone thinks and irrespective of its outcome.

Limited by Boundaries!

Limited by Boundaries!

Anyone who compares or divides under political or religious or geographical or financial or any such “lines of boundary“, unfortunately has a finite mindset.

Not necessarily by choice, but the society works that way and that makes it easier for anyone to inherit those qualities.

What do I mean by ‘finite‘ mindset?

When what you think, what you say and what you do is limited within the bubble of a certain boundary. (political/ religious/ geographical/ financial etc)

In order to upgrade/ improve yourself, you need to

  • know that you aren’t always right
  • broaden your viewpoint
  • question the usual
  • hear out the other person once
  • introduce empathy in the picture
  • practice being silent when you don’t know everything

When you think beyond what you know, you realize that half the things you think or say aren’t even that important in life.

Create, Don’t Hate

Create, Don’t Hate

If you consume anything on any of the social media platforms, you’d also notice that there’s a lot of hate out there.

At such times, you have a choice to do something about it.

Either you let that content consume you too or stay away from it and probably, someone else would be affected from it.

There’s a third door that is often not visible but we can choose to see it and open it too.

That is the door of creation.

How about instead of hating the people spreading the hate, or hating that content, taking a different path of creating content that tackles it.

Spreading some Positivity, Happiness and Love on the internet, if you have it within you.

Hate can only be overpowered by love and positivity, but someone has to take that step of spreading it.

One content piece at a time, one person, and as time passes, it can become a movement to spread love and positivity on the internet too, making it a good place again.

Create, Don’t Hate

What can you see?

What can you see?

In life, we only take steps towards those things which we can see.

The usual thinking is, if we can see it, that means its real and we have to do something about it.

If you get scratched on your body, you’ll put an ailment on it.

If your car gets scratched, you’ll take it to the car center.

But, what about those things that you can’t see?

What about the damage to the body with foods that aren’t beneficial to it (at all), but just has a feel good factor for the moment and you can’t see the damage it is doing to you, short-term and long-term? Or even with not working out because of which right from the movement to the blood vessels to the hormones, everything gets affected?

What else can’t you see?

Is there something more damaging that we are not able to see through our eyes?

How about the damage to our minds with negative/ polluting/ judgemental thoughts that affect our own mind and take away more from us?

Just because we can’t see the affect of these things through our own eyes, doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen, right?

Internally, the process is happening, it’s just that only when something substantial happens then we realize the effect of something we did to then realize, “Oh, how I wish I could’ve seen that sooner?”

Let’s start noticing the things you can’t see and then start working on it.

Are you the Spectator or the Driver?

Are you the Spectator or the Driver?

Do you control your mind or does the mind control you?

An undisciplined mind controls you, your thoughts and actions, it takes you places you probably don’t want to visit. You feel like everything is happening to you and you’re just a spectator in that scenario.

Whereas if you discipline your mind, if you learn to control it, then you are in control of your life, in control of your thoughts and actions. Instead of being the spectator, you are now the driver of your life.

As Buddha has rightly said, “There is nothing so disobedient as an undisciplined mind, and there is nothing so obedient as a disciplined mind.”

Just a change in perspective gets you to this point in your life where you choose to either be the spectator or the driver, the choice is always yours.

Good for me, not for you.

Good for me, not for you.

The issue in today’s times, especially with the trolls and heated debates comes down to this, which no one talks about.

What’s good for me, may not be good for you.

This could literally be about anything in life. Not just social media, but mainly that because nowadays everything boils down to that.

Along with social media, in your group conversations, in your work calls, in a networking event, literally anywhere offline and online, there could be something that’s good for somebody and might not be good for you.

There’s something for everyone out there.

Tastes differ.

Mindsets differ.

Wants differ.

Everyone cannot like the same thing. That is simply not possible.

However, when an individual understands that this thing is not good for me, but its not universally bad, its just not for me. When that happens, things literally change, for you and for others around you.

When that viewpoint changes, even your perspective of looking at things change.

One might say this is so simple to understand and yet we ignore it, something so simple that will reduce the hate and the trolling and the negative voices offline and online…

“What’s good for me, may not be good for you.”

You decide your pace!

You decide your pace!

When it comes to personal decisions or professional decisions, when it is about your life, then it is you who decides your pace.

No one else, no one can.

No one has or can have that control.

Whether it is to walk or jog or sprint or even to catch your breath, you decide your pace.

That decision is completely up to you.

That is what your journey is about.

And when you decide your pace, you are accountable for whatever happens.

You could sprint and get tired in a while and your plan may not work out.

You could jog and sprint in between and jog again, be strategic with your process.

Or you could even wait for a while and catch your breath, not worrying about others’ jogs and sprints.

When this happens, irrespective of whatever happens in the future, you know that you had taken that decision which led to this. You decided the pace.

It could have been a hasty decision or it could be a well-planned decision, you may never know until the outcome is out.

However, irrespective of the outcome, that choice of pace will decide the now. It will decide how you operate now and whether you’re satisfied in the now or not.

Staying in your Lane

Staying in your Lane

What does it mean to stay in your lane? What good does it to you? Why should you do it?

Staying in your lane means to do what you’re good at, to execute according to your strengths and to walk on that path.

When you walk on that certain selected path, one, you have chosen to be in this lane, you’re aware of it, you’ve the knowledge of it. It’s your strength. Anything which is a strength is good for you.

Second, you are able to keep improving in your field because you understand the level of knowledge you have and how much more you have to learn.

You also become known by walking in that lane, when you share your opinions and observations about that path, people want to know more and want to learn more.

There’s only advantage for you when you walk in your lane, but the key is to identify that lane first.

That lane is not what the society tells you to walk on, or what your family tells you, that lane is a path where you’re comfortable walking on, where you enjoying walking, so much so that you can walk, jog or sprint too, you decide the pace.

However, the bottom line to excel/ succeed is to stay in your lane and then get better at it.

Walking the path of the unknown!

Walking the path of the unknown!

What is life, if not a path of the unknown, you may plan it ahead, but you never know what may happen.

No matter how safely you choose your path or how you emulate someone else’s path, everyone’s journey is their own.

Their own set of thoughts, actions, goals, difficulties and accomplishments.

When everything is unique to you, there is no knowing of what’s ahead, even if you compared it with someone else.

It’s a beautiful path to be on, full of adventure and no sight of what’s at the end.

No amount of planning can interpret the pits you’d be falling into or even how many.

There’s only one thing that can be done on the path of the unknown, and i.e. to be prepared for it.

When you improve yourself, your skills, your knowledge, your response to life, is when you become prepared for the unknown.

Instead of facing the issue and not knowing what to do, to some extent, you’re now able to prepare yourself for it.

If not with a proper solution, at least emotionally or mentally, so when the moment arises, you can be ready for it, you can be ready to face it. You won’t be in a situation of hopelessness or for the lack of a better word, be clueless.

Life is walking on the path of the unknown and you can only prepare yourself for it, with all tools and weapons at your disposal.

Serving on a Silver Platter

Serving on a Silver Platter

Quick solutions, shortcuts and just getting to the results hurts us in more than ways than one can count.

Walking on such a path where one wants quick solutions to every problem they have, a shortcut to every question they ask, gets them on a journey, where they aren’t learning anything, they aren’t evolving by making mistakes and then improving from them.

On such a path, there should be no difficulty, but everything handed out, so one can walk on this road with no cracks and no potholes.

In reality, this doesn’t get anyone too far because it doesn’t make them ready for the real world.

In the real world, one needs to find their own path, their own answers to their problems, be patient with the process and be ready to make mistakes as well. Sure, the process is long but is also an enjoyable one because they want to do it on your own, not something that worked for someone else’s life.

When they do so, they don’t want anything handed out on a silver platter, on the contrary they’re ready to face their own problems, do their own research, learn from scratch but do it with their own sweat and tears.

At such a time, they’re involved in the process, they’re evolving, ready to take on whatever comes their way. Nothing’s served on a silver platter.

I can’t tell you, it’s a secret!

I can’t tell you, it’s a secret!

How many times have you not shared something because you thought it should be hidden?

Because you thought only you should know it.

Because you thought if others find out, then it won’t be exclusive to you.

This is not just about “start-up ideas” or your goals with life.

This can also be about the thoughts you have, the answers you have to someone’s problems, the knowledge to help out someone else.

“I can’t tell you, it’s a secret” is usually the response in most people’s mind, if not said out loud.

However, the more you share, the more you receive.

The more you give, the more you’re able to learn as well. When you share your secrets, you get to improve and evolve to newer thoughts, better answers and more satisfaction than before.

Earlier, with keeping what you already knew, you thought this is it, this is the answer that I should keep to myself.

But, by not keeping it a secret, you allowed yourself to understand that there’s more to it than that, and now you can walk the path of the unknown where you learn more and improve faster than before.

And that happens when you reveal your secrets, when you share what you know.

Ultimately, in this process, you also get to help someone out there, and make it easier for them as well.

Using your Voice wisely!

Using your Voice wisely!

All of us have a voice and many a time, especially with the freedom of writing anything on social media, we feel like putting our opinion out there!

What we should know is this?

Every voice matters and every voice can make a difference.

Each voice is powerful enough to make the amount of noise needed to make change happen and in the midst of that, similar voices join the cause and add support to that singular voice.

That is precisely why it should be used wisely. To add to that statement, your voice should be used when you think there’s substance to it when you think your opinion will add value to that topic, whether pro or against, but it should definitely be something of value.

Quite often, people use it just for the sake of it, or just because everyone’s voicing their opinions on a particular topic on social media. In such situations, one’s usually not aware of the occurrences or at least not 100% aware of it. It’s at such times when these particular opinions just add volume to a topic without having any substance to it, thus increasing the ‘internet pollution’.

The sensible thing to do is to use your voice wisely! That’s the bottom line.

Praise the Positive

Praise the Positive

How often does it happen that we didn’t like the food at a restaurant or an experience at a store or a hotel or a flight (for ex.) and we immediately leave a bad review on the internet?

How often has a public figure, be it a politician, or an entertainer or a sportsperson said something unnecessary and we immediately blew it out of proportion?

At the same time, how often have you written a good review after having an amazing meal at a restaurant? Or a positive review for a hotel or a flight after a good experience?

How often have you praised another colleague or a friend or an acquaintance after something good happened in their personal or professional lives? (not the inner circle, generally the friends in your life)

As a society, every individual is to blame. Because it is us who make the society collectively negative, with each one contributing by either a negative opinion or not praising the positive or also by staying silent.

Of those three, I want to focus on praising the positive in this post.

Let this be a challenge, let this be a movement. Every time we see something good happening, we build it as a habit to praise it, praise the positive.

In our circle, whether with friends or acquaintances or colleagues or juniors or seniors, whether on social media or offline, whether a personal accomplishment or a professional win, we’ll take that effort in praising the positive.

Whether we had a good meal somewhere, or had a wonderful experience at any place, through social media, or at least in person, we’ll take that initiative in praising the positive.

We cannot talk of everything else and not social media! Either the people we follow, or the community we’ve built, we will support whenever possible, we’ll praise the positive whenever we see it.

It’s this decision, this affirmation to make change possible when you see change happening. It’s this tiny step of you praising the positive, when you start noticing positive things happening in your life as well. This level of positivity will bring joy, energy, happiness and success along with it, you just need to be positive and praise the positive.

Question the Default!

Question the Default!

As we live each day of our lives, as we grow, as a society we also become conditioned to do the same kind of things and in the same behavior.

Everyone is programmed to do the same thing in the cycle of life. Every age group is defined by the same set of responsibilities and same set of questions and requirements and pressure.

The bigger issue is everyone follows it tiptoe without blinking an eye.

To question the default is becoming an outcast in a group and the thought of doing so becomes scarier for an individual.

However, once you question the default is when life takes a turn for you.

That is the moment when you start noticing the pattern, you start observing the behavior, you start asking the right type of questions and you jump into an ocean of the unknown.

It gives you a thrill and also opens your eyes to the reality, where you realize things can be done differently, things can be done according to how you want them to be done, by you, for you.

No asks, no requirements, no pressure.

You now set a whole new pattern for you, a whole new thought process, you’re now the outcast in a group of outcasts, with all eyes on you, but you enjoy it, because it now gives you joy and a cheer you never had before.

All this happens, just by questioning the default.

But my problems aren’t that bad…

But my problems aren’t that bad…

Have you ever had a problem that made you feel you stressed or anxious along with a wonder as to how would you solve it?

At such a time, the mind boggles down into spiraling thoughts and provides us with imaginations of different scenarios making us feel more panicky.

Sometimes, people then realize that these problems aren’t that bad when they compare to someone else’s larger problem at hand which is much graver than theirs.

Now, that isn’t bad at all. That’s a good way to think, it helps you get rid of the stress and anxiousness of that smaller problem (in hindsight) of yours and helps you regain focus of your life.

However, this thought that my problem isn’t bad can be troublesome too.

How and why?

Well, not that it isn’t good to scale down your problem with that other larger problem, but at the end of it, that problem, whatever it is, still is one for you, no matter what.

Only you have temporarily gotten rid of its effects by altering your thinking.

What can you do differently then?

Well, getting to its roots and understanding why it is a problem for you is a really good scenario from a micro and a macro perspective of life.

Once you solve one issue of yours, you then become capable of handing the other issues as well, those that affect you, and on top of that, you then come into a situation wherein those kinds of problems won’t have that kind of an effect on you anymore. Because now your mind knows that you’re capable of handling it, rather than getting rid of it temporarily.

Another counter point here could be that, it’s so easier to say to get to the bottom of it, but how easy it is when the moment arises. That may be true, but it doesn’t change the equation that if the problem is a solvable one, then you just need to get a practice of that calmness and patience to understand it and to deal with it.

Having both types of thought processes is good for you, one will get you the perspective and the other will solve it for you. The balance of both will come with practice and perspective and will give you a skill you may have not had before, or rather improved you at it.

The journey of self-improvement is long

The journey of self-improvement is long

Can there be a timeline on self-improvement? Can there be a goal set for self-improvement?

In the shortest answer, I don’t think so.

Hear me out!

When you walk the path of improving yourself, firstly its the realization that comes too late, and then understanding the issues at hand and then improving at them.

Of course, it’s easy to write this than execute because the process is a long one.

However, once you start walking on this path of self-improvement, you might wonder how much time you should give to it and if there’s a specific goal that you should attach to the process, which once achieved, means you have achieved the process of self-improvement.

Well, not to burst the bubble, but it is one.

The journey of self-improvement is long, lifetime long. There is no specific target to achieve and there cannot be any time limit to it.

The more you improve, the more you change and the more you grow. The more you grow, the more you want to improve and the more you want to learn.

The process is a cyclical one and ultimately, the vision becomes to become better than yesterday, to become a better version of yourself.

You improve at one thing, then you want to pick up another aspect of your life to improve at, you work on it, but there are levels attached to it, so basically you’re levelling up time after time.

This is not meant to scare you at all, no that’s not the case. The intention is to make you aware of this so you don’t have the wrong expectations of the process.

It takes efforts, it takes time, and yet its the best thing that you could do with your life.

What if you already know it?

What if you already know it?

Do you think you know about something or multiple things and don’t need to know anything more about it?

When you hear something about it, the first thought that comes to your mind is that you already know it.

Is that a good sign?

That you already know it.

You don’t have to learn more about it then, is that right?

Well, if you look at it from a higher perspective, it comes down to this… When you know about something, either you’re the best at that certain something, you’re the go-to person for that.

If not, then you still have more to learn.

This thought that I already know it limits you from learning more, it limits you from improving yourself on that certain something, it limits you from exploring more and it limits your imagination.

What would be better, to learn more or to be stuck at a middle point where you feel you already know it?

Curiosity is good, exploration is good and to have a Mindset of constant learning is extremely beneficial for you and your mind as well.

You don’t have to tell you’re happy!

You don’t have to tell you’re happy!

Happiness has become such a huge debate in today’s times, and more than usual, because we have been programmed to think about it in a certain way and on top of that, there are so many out there with their own definitions about it.

In the midst of this, a lot of people feel to share that they’re happy.

Whether in conversations or social media, someone will tell they are happy.

See, that is not wrong at all.

My point behind this post is this, of course we should share our happiness with others, we should put more optimism and positivity out there.

My question is are you genuinely feeling happy or are you feeling the pressure to say that you’re happy too!?

Someone who is happy can share that they are, but it also shows in the way they talk or in their actions.

Another point that I’d like to add here is this… I’m talking about macro happy, the overall happiness of life, feeling happy, not the micro successes or accomplishments of personal and professional that we would like to share and which also makes us ecstatic at that time.

When you’re truly happy, you should feel it and that is something that is shared automatically, not something that you have to convince other people about.

Changing your morning narrative!

Changing your morning narrative!

There are two things that happen every morning!

Either you are in your control or your narrative.

When you let the narrative control you, then you are not in control.

And vice versa.

What do I mean by that?

How often does it happen that you wake up and you immediately had to rush for work, or with the current times, immediately log in to work?

How often does it happen that you wake up and you’ve missed the workout time or your meditation time or even your breakfast time?

This is when the narrative controls you.

This is what happens when there is no regular sleep and wake up timings and the irregular scheduling hurts all the activities throughout the day.

One after the other, everything is rescheduled and then something fits in another time or it has to be dropped.

On the contrary, when your circadian rhythm is in check, when you have a regular sleep and wake up pattern, you’re in control of your life.

You control when to workout, you control when to have breakfast, you control how calmly and with ease can you start your work.

This is how you change your morning narrative.

And it changes when you control your decisions, rather than letting these tasks controlling your decisions.

Change your morning narrative.

What happens when you write daily?

What happens when you write daily?

Something changes in you when you do this daily!

No matter how good or the opposite you’re at it.

Of course, what I’m talking about is writing.

Writing on a daily basis.

You can write anything.

Your thoughts,

Your goals,

Your plans for life, or for the day,

What went wrong,

What went right,

Your gratitude list.

You can write anything.

But, what happens when you write on a daily basis?

Well, simply put, the best thing that happens is you get more clarity.

Such clarity doesn’t come just by thinking about it or by conversing about it.

When you write, when you form the words, the sentences, the paragraphs, what is also happening is you’re opening up more than you had thought you would.

In this process, you get more clarity, a more wider viewpoint of what you actually think, it gives you the opportunity to take a deeper dive into it. It also gives a third person perspective and allows to rectify your wrongdoings, whether in terms of your thoughts, actions or opinions.

The more you write, the more ideas you get, the more your mind opens up, new opportunities start opening up, you’ll write things you don’t think about. Because that’s what happens when you write a few words and then think about what you’d like to add to it.

And the best part is you don’t have to be a professional at it.

It can be personal to you as well, or you could do what I do, write a daily blog.

Open up, with your thoughts, ideas, share it with everyone and help them grow too, whilst giving your perspective on things you write about.

From my personal experience, what I’ve noticed is this, along with everything that I’ve mentioned above, writing everyday also gives me the chance to better my thoughts, improve my vocabulary, my sentence formation, that helps me converse better, whether verbally or in writing, on my blog or on social media.

Writing everyday, whether online or in your diary, the bottom line is its the best thing that you could do to your advantage.

Small Things!

Small Things!

We always wonder it’s the big steps that we take that have the biggest impact in our life.

However, it’s actually the opposite.

It’s a curious one and we never stopped to wonder why.

In reality, it’s the small things that make the biggest impact in life.

Let’s map out three different scenarios that would explain this in the best possible way.

Scenario A –
A person wants to become fit and they say in order to so, they’d have to do intense workouts, go on a diet and probably do ‘x’ to reach that goal. A month later, nothing has changed.
However, if that person changes the perspective from the big changes to the small changes, then they would proceed by making a schedule, fitting in the workout time, readying the clothes beforehand and actually starting from day one to begin this process.

Scenario B –
A person, with quite some difficulties in their life, now thinks that they should turn to the path of positivity and leave out the toxicity behind. They wonder that this path would change their life and solve the issues.
However, in order to so, it’s the small things like thinking positive thoughts, having a positive self-talk, not undermining themselves or others are the micro ways to do so, for the bigger impact to happen.

Scenario C –
A person has an idea, that if scaled quickly can become a game-changer and even change people’s lives. Even if the efforts are appreciated, it’s the small things like arranging a team, plotting/ executing the initial work, showing the initial sales that would change things around.

No matter the situation, no matter how personal or professional, it’s always the small things, either in terms of planning, living, executing, it’s the small things that make the biggest impact in our lives. Always!

Adapt Yourself!

Adapt Yourself!

Things never go according to plan!

There’s known and unforeseen circumstances that can change the trajectory of your plan!

The key is to adapt yourself to these situations!

Of course there’s no right way, but there’s no wrong way either!

You learn, you practice, you make mistakes, you evolve and eventually learn how to adapt yourself according to the circumstance at hand.

The bottom line is to adapt yourself!
