Serving on a Silver Platter

Serving on a Silver Platter

Quick solutions, shortcuts and just getting to the results hurts us in more than ways than one can count.

Walking on such a path where one wants quick solutions to every problem they have, a shortcut to every question they ask, gets them on a journey, where they aren’t learning anything, they aren’t evolving by making mistakes and then improving from them.

On such a path, there should be no difficulty, but everything handed out, so one can walk on this road with no cracks and no potholes.

In reality, this doesn’t get anyone too far because it doesn’t make them ready for the real world.

In the real world, one needs to find their own path, their own answers to their problems, be patient with the process and be ready to make mistakes as well. Sure, the process is long but is also an enjoyable one because they want to do it on your own, not something that worked for someone else’s life.

When they do so, they don’t want anything handed out on a silver platter, on the contrary they’re ready to face their own problems, do their own research, learn from scratch but do it with their own sweat and tears.

At such a time, they’re involved in the process, they’re evolving, ready to take on whatever comes their way. Nothing’s served on a silver platter.

Adapt Yourself!

Adapt Yourself!

Things never go according to plan!

There’s known and unforeseen circumstances that can change the trajectory of your plan!

The key is to adapt yourself to these situations!

Of course there’s no right way, but there’s no wrong way either!

You learn, you practice, you make mistakes, you evolve and eventually learn how to adapt yourself according to the circumstance at hand.

The bottom line is to adapt yourself!

Want vs Should

Want vs Should

The biggest battle that every individual goes through, without even realising it is this…

The battle of Want vs Should.

What you want vs What you should.

What it also means is what’s right for you vs what you would like to happen irrespective of it being right or wrong for you.

For example, you should exercise, but at this moment, you want to continue scrolling on your phone or go out and socialise or watch something on your laptop.

You should eat right and not have the unhealthy processed stuff that doesn’t benefit the body, however at this time, you want to have the packet of chips or have some cookies because you feel hungry right now.

Another example is, based on what’s right for you, you should schedule an hour or so everyday to read or learn something new, but because of whatever reason, you want to use that time to consume something entertaining and push the should to later.

As you’d notice with these micro examples of life, what usually happens is our wants take over our shoulds, and every time we push the should, we basically postpone what’s right for you and what you should actually do for yourself, in order to be better, in order to grow, in order to improve yourself.

The ‘what we want’ basically becomes a quicker, lazier way of making decisions which temporarily makes you satisfied vs taking the efforts and doing ‘what you should’ because that would take more out of you.

There are hundreds of examples of ‘want vs should’ which, if one reads, would be like a pin to the heart because that would make you realise the things that you do wrong, irrespective of knowing the outcome of it.

Every time, anything is put under this perspective, it’s an eye-opener for someone who would then probably understand what they should do vs what they want to do.

This applies to micro as well as macro situations in life, it’s only up to you to choose when you’d like to apply it and whether you choose to be on that path or not.

Are you carrying a heavy backpack?

Are you carrying a heavy backpack?

I have two questions for you.

Are you carrying a backpack?

And

How heavy is it?

How about two more questions?

Do you have past memories, past worries, opinions and judgments troubling you?

Is that causing the heaviness?

Anything of the past that we are holding on to forms into this backpack that we have to carry throughout.

Two things happen here…

A. The more you hold on to, the heavier it becomes. That results into you slowing down and not being able to move forward as you’d want.

B. Until you don’t realise you’re carrying this backpack, you won’t be able to get rid of it.

Before you move on, ask yourself these questions, just wonder about them for a minute because this one minute could be changing your life.

Empathy is the answer!

Empathy is the answer!

When you’re able to empathise with another person,
their perspective,
their situation,
their problems

you not only broaden your relationship with the people around you;

But you also open your mind to more possibilities and more opportunities.

And that helps you win not only in your personal life but your professional life as well.

Empathy is always the answer.

“Empathy has got me so much more, so much farther in not only my life, but in my career.” – Ryan Reynolds

Let your light shine!

Let your light shine!

All of us, yes all of us, have a light within us.

A light that shines around us, spreading the rays on to people around us.

The brighter the light, the more people it impacts!

However, there’s a catch too.

How dimmer or brighter the light is also depends on you, your mind, body and soul.

Nonetheless, the bottom line is, everyone has a light within them.

You only have to allow it to shine and let it impact others.

In a good way.

When you do so, you will try to make sure that the light shines brighter than usual.

And in that path, you will ensure how to make that light shine brighter and ultimately, make yourself better too.

The biggest armory of yours!

The biggest armory of yours!

Who you are, what is your real voice, what your strengths are, what your weaknesses are, what your habits are, what your thoughts are, how your words and actions affect you and others, what pushes you, what brings you down – all of such things come under self awareness.

When you become aware of everything you are and everything you do.

It tells you what you need to change, what you need to overcome, what you need to double down on.

It’s the single biggest armory of yours that you single-handedly have the power over, the knowledge of which is a strength that not everyone has.
