Staying in your Lane

Staying in your Lane

What does it mean to stay in your lane? What good does it to you? Why should you do it?

Staying in your lane means to do what you’re good at, to execute according to your strengths and to walk on that path.

When you walk on that certain selected path, one, you have chosen to be in this lane, you’re aware of it, you’ve the knowledge of it. It’s your strength. Anything which is a strength is good for you.

Second, you are able to keep improving in your field because you understand the level of knowledge you have and how much more you have to learn.

You also become known by walking in that lane, when you share your opinions and observations about that path, people want to know more and want to learn more.

There’s only advantage for you when you walk in your lane, but the key is to identify that lane first.

That lane is not what the society tells you to walk on, or what your family tells you, that lane is a path where you’re comfortable walking on, where you enjoying walking, so much so that you can walk, jog or sprint too, you decide the pace.

However, the bottom line to excel/ succeed is to stay in your lane and then get better at it.

The journey of self-improvement is long

The journey of self-improvement is long

Can there be a timeline on self-improvement? Can there be a goal set for self-improvement?

In the shortest answer, I don’t think so.

Hear me out!

When you walk the path of improving yourself, firstly its the realization that comes too late, and then understanding the issues at hand and then improving at them.

Of course, it’s easy to write this than execute because the process is a long one.

However, once you start walking on this path of self-improvement, you might wonder how much time you should give to it and if there’s a specific goal that you should attach to the process, which once achieved, means you have achieved the process of self-improvement.

Well, not to burst the bubble, but it is one.

The journey of self-improvement is long, lifetime long. There is no specific target to achieve and there cannot be any time limit to it.

The more you improve, the more you change and the more you grow. The more you grow, the more you want to improve and the more you want to learn.

The process is a cyclical one and ultimately, the vision becomes to become better than yesterday, to become a better version of yourself.

You improve at one thing, then you want to pick up another aspect of your life to improve at, you work on it, but there are levels attached to it, so basically you’re levelling up time after time.

This is not meant to scare you at all, no that’s not the case. The intention is to make you aware of this so you don’t have the wrong expectations of the process.

It takes efforts, it takes time, and yet its the best thing that you could do with your life.

It costs zero!

It costs zero!

It costs zero?

But what though?

The biggest values in the world

That create the most impact!

Things like kindness, empathy, gratitude and optimism cost you nothing,
it doesn’t take anything away from you,
but it helps you to live a happy and positive life.

Not only that, but you also get to spread this word around, spread some love and not to forget, when you’re optimistic, good things just happen in your life.

3 Life Lessons to learn from the game ‘Ludo’

3 Life Lessons to learn from the game ‘Ludo’

If there was one thing apart from livestreaming and video conferencing that got popular (again) was playing Ludo.

Whether it’s the board game or the mobile game, whether its playing with family or with friends, Ludo has become that bonding game for many during this lockdown.

Said that, I’ve had my share of games with the family, and playing these many times with some wins and some really bad losses got me thinking…

There are quite a few Life Lessons too that the game teaches us!

  • You can’t give up until the game is over

How many times has it happened that the other player/s are way ahead and about to win, and there are times when, because you didn’t give up, because you were a worthy competitor playing until the end, you actually won too.

Same applies to life as well, when you’ve set your mind to something, you shouldn’t and you probably wouldn’t give up until you can’t do it anymore, but until then you won’t give up.

You will keep going, no matter what the circumstances are and no matter how much life wants to test you.

  • Just because you’re ahead doesn’t mean you’ve won

In the above scenario, you’re on the other side of the equation where you are the underdog. Here, you’re the one who’s boasting that you’re about to win.

How many times has it happened that you were leading, just the last piece remaining about to enter the final segment of the journey and someone gets you out. And that becomes the turning point of the game.

When it comes to life, doesn’t the same happen? When you’re ahead, when you’re winning, you feel there is no other and it’s just you, going forward with overconfidence – but then life gets in the way and says that you haven’t won yet.

It shows that one needs to be careful and smart until the end, know what’s going around and not to celebrate until it’s happened.

  • You need to be strategic with your moves

Another important thing that the game teaches us is how to be strategic in the game and in life.

In the game, you need to know when to play the different pieces, whether you should take the chance to cut someone else or save the other piece about to enter the save zone, but is currently in danger.

Just like in life, where you need to be strategic with your moves. You need to be aware of your surroundings and play your moves accordingly. Know which move is aggressive, which one needs to be monitored and move forward accordingly.

I’m sure if you break down the game, there could be some other things to learn too, some smaller in impact maybe. However, these are those life-changing lessons that I could think of, while playing of course.

Ready to ‘Zazz Your Life?’

We are now @zazzyourlife on Instagram, previously Live The Zazz Life.

What’s the mission?

We want you to take the control of your life in your hands, instead of being dependent on anyone else to provide the answers.

We want you to ZAZZ your life on your own!

What do we mean by zazz?
Well, it’s making your life more unique and awesome than before.

How do we do that?
By changing how we think, how we communicate, how we react, our habits, our goals, our purpose, how to upgrade yourself to a better version, what to eat, what to drink, what not to do and the why behind everything.

Once we learn this and once we learn to rewire our brain, we upgrade ourselves to a better and improved version of ourselves than before. That is adding the zazz to our life.

Not to forget, only you can do it. Nobody else. Not us, surely. We are just the medium in this equation.

So, are you ready to zazz your life?

Later.

Later.

When you tell yourself, that I’ll do this ‘later’, what are you actually telling yourself?

In simple terms, it means that you don’t want to do that something right now and you’ll do it at a later point of time.

Although, if you break it down, it means, that certain something isn’t a priority for you to take care of it right now.

Well, in that terms, what is the priority of that thing on a scale of 1 – 5? 1 being the highest and 5 being the lowest.

Well, if its anything beyond a 3, then the probability of you taking on that thing at a later point of time seems unlikely.

A simple reason is because, one, its not that important to you, second, on a day-to-day basis or a weekly basis, there will be something that is going to replace things on the priority scale of 1 and 2.

On the basis of which, things beyond 3 aren’t going to be taken care of at all.

What’s the alternative?

Either take on only one or two things at a time, so there’s no point of pushing something to ‘later’.

Or being well-organized to a point that you complete that entire list of 1 – 5, irrespective of how many other tasks or things come on to your plate.

Kind is the new Cool.

Kind is the new Cool.

A while back, what was cool? Having an attitude defined coolness; being popular defined coolness; being better than others felt cool.

It was a perceptive reality we lived in.

However, especially with the rise of social media and communication becoming easier than ever amongst individuals from all over the world, also led to the rise in the talk of mental health.

Which was good.

However, along with mental health, also the talk of values and beliefs and the baseline of what it means to be a good human. Amongst other important values, it brought kindness to the limelight, where people who were kind never thought it is something to be spoken about and the ones who didn’t understand its implementation in their lives now saw a difference between their current perception and the difference kindness brings in theirs and the lives of the people around them.

What is cool now?

Well, simply put, Kindness is the new Cool.

If you’re kind towards yourself, if you’re kind with your deeds and words, if you’re kind towards others, you’re cool.

9 out of 10.

9 out of 10.

We work; we try; we experiment; we fail; we succeed; we learn.

Although, do you know what happens?

9 out of 10 times things may not happen the way we expected it to.

And that’s okay!

That’s the beauty of life!

Life doesn’t give you always what you wanted…

However,

It’s that one time when you succeed, you get what you wanted, you reach your expectations.

That’s the one you got to remember.

That one pushes you to try another 10 times, out of which, yet again 9 out of 10 times things might not go your way.

Alone with your Thoughts!

Alone with your Thoughts!

If you want to live life,

If you want to grow,

If you want to succeed,

If you want to be happy,

You have to learn to be alone with your thoughts!

Your thoughts convert into questions you didn’t know you wanted to ask yourself.

Your thoughts convert into answers you didn’t know you could answer!

Your thoughts open you up; show you the path; get you of the rut you may be in – all answers lead to you being alone with your thoughts and listening to them and understanding them.

The problem is people can’t be alone with themselves; even when they are, they aren’t alone alone.

You get what I’m saying?

One tends to end up on the social media platforms, watching a video or maybe productively reading a book or listening to a podcast (maybe).

However, you still aren’t alone with your thoughts!

Most of the times, people are scared to be.

They don’t know how to do so!

They don’t know what will happen!

Try it!

If you don’t try, you won’t learn, you won’t experience the results.

Your thoughts are so powerful, they can make you or break you.

Learn to be alone with your thoughts || Learn to control them and focus on the topics you want to think about. (but that’s another topic for another day)

Have Patience

Have Patience

We are always in a rush to chase something or the other in life.

And, we want it now! Not later, now!

If you put in the efforts or the work today, the results should appear by tomorrow! That’s become the common mentality now.

We have forgotten the word ‘patience.’

“Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.” – Aristotle.

In order to enjoy life,
in order to enjoy what we want or need,
in order to enjoy the process
– we need to start being patient.

That’s the only answer with which we can be
happy now;
enjoy life and
be satisfied.

If not, then there would be just the rush of wanting or chasing one thing after the other, not having the desired results, being left with disappointments and unhappiness.

The choice is yours – be patient with life and enjoy everything that you do or just the opposite.

The Game Of Life #Part1

The Game Of Life #Part1

In the limitless number of thoughts that I have on a day-to-day basis; one of those thoughts resonated with the fact that life is nothing but a game, which you play and your choices and decisions lead to how you play that game and whether you’re good at it or not.

Thus, #TheGameOfLife

Thinking about life, I pen down my thoughts that relate with this and thus as you can notice below are a few that I think can change how we live life.

Worry Less, Smile More

Worry Less, Smile More

Seconds turn into minutes and minutes into hours and just like that, the day is over.

A better part of that day is spent in worrying either about the past decisions or about future plans.

There’s just too much unnecessary worrying which takes place in our day-to-day.

In this chaos, what we forget is to smile! ☺

A smile to show our appreciation towards our day.

A smile to show our love towards our close ones.

A smile to everything that we could accomplish today.

A smile to live another day.

So why not live in the moment, think about the now, worry less and smile more.

After all, the more we smile, the more happy do we feel.

#WorryLessSmileMore

Sharing your goals with others!

Sharing your goals with others!

What have you heard about sharing your goals with others?

Well, let me tell you what the “society” says.

Don’t share them with anyone. Keep it to yourself.

To think of it, why is it said so?

Because someone else will do it before you?

Because someone having this knowledge will hinder your progress?

Well, my thoughts resonate the other way round. I don’t think that the world should work like this.

I’m all-in about sharing your goals with others.

Why do I think so?

Firstly, at times, your goals and ambitions are not clearly defined. When you share, you end up talking about it more and more.

Because of this, you tend to understand more clearly what you want to do, why do you want to it and you’re able to streamline the process more easily.

Secondly, the more you share, two things tend to happen – one, people start supporting you and pushing you more towards achieving it.

This also leads to real-time support too, in the form of partnerships and collaborations, which wouldn’t have happened organically in the first place.

More importantly, if your goal is something worth achieving and you share the journey behind it, others also get inspired to set a goal for themselves.

In my opinion, everyone should share their goals – be open about it – if you’re confident with what you’re doing and more importantly, why you’re doing it, then neither anyone else nor you should have any problems with it.

You know your Truth!

You know your Truth!

What’s your truth?

Only you know that.

No one else.

No one can.

A few people in your life have a 90% access to your life, for some it is 75%, for some it is 50% and for a lot more it’s less than that.

You know what that means?

No one knows you better than you, yourself.

People can speculate

People can judge

People can question

But none have a clear idea whatsoever.

They don’t care about your reasons or your explanations either…

So why waste time explaining anything!

It’s better to realize that…

No one but myself knows my truth

And I have to live with that.

You are the Driver!

You are the Driver!

Quite often, we think what the future holds for us!

We have all done that, haven’t we?

Does that make sense though?

You are the Driver of your Life!

You drive your life to wherever you want to go, the destination may not be important, but the journey surely is.

The future holds nothing for you – you hold your future in your hands.

Your thoughts,

Your actions,

Your needs

Will drive the vehicle of your life to the future you create.

There’s nothing that will happen automatically for you, if you don’t do something about it first.

Now the question, whether you are a good driver or not, is another question in itself.

However, you’re the driver, that’s the truth.

Valuing what you have!

Valuing what you have!

Have you noticed something? There’s so much that we do, in our day-to-day lives, that we almost don’t realize the importance of so many of those things.

It’s always the same scenario – looking at the bigger picture, and looking at what’s bigger than what we currently have and then chasing that.

We don’t value the important things because we take it for granted. This doesn’t apply to just things, but to people, our friends, family, the work we do, the stuff we have, the food we eat, everything.

We realize the importance of the minute things when we don’t have them.

Having a Mindset like this also results in something like this – you’re always chasing, running after the next thing and not enjoying what you currently have. You’re not able to cherish that moment.

If you change that, then you’ll be happy now, with what you have, who you have and what you’re able to do.

Try valuing what you have, and realize it’s importance before its too late.

For the Game!

For the Game!

When you do something, because you love doing it, because you love the process, then you’re doing it for the game.

The results don’t matter to you, either in case of an accomplishment or failure.

It’s a very contextual statement, in either of the scenarios, you still do that something and try to improve or pivot in order to keep moving forward.

Whilst walking on this path, you feel happier, more satisfied and fulfilled – because you love the game – it’s very simple.

#ForTheGame

How to find your Passion?

How to find your Passion?

Time and again, the question of your passion turns up, either in your mind or during your conversations.

What is my passion?

How do I answer whether I am passionate about this?

Most of the times, one’s not able to clearly state the answer for these questions.

The answer’s simple, yet complicated at the same time. Before we go on to find passion, I also think that there’s never just one thing when it comes to being passionate about something – there could be – but, usually there’s more.

Before you answer these questions for yourself, also understand to not limit yourself to just one thing and think this is my passion.

Life is about experimentations; you never know what strikes how and what doesn’t.

Coming back to finding passion, let’s define how any human being can tell what they’re passionate about.

Let’s break it down into the following categories :

A. Strengths

Usually, we list down what our strengths are and what are weaknesses are, and depending on that, we usually pick the strengths because we are good at those things, and follow that course and simultaneously improve ourselves at it too.

B. Love

Do you love doing that thing? Do you feel like you could do it all day, every day? Do you feel if you didn’t take a vacation or worked on weekends too, would it feel the same?

C. It’s Not Work

If there is ever a feeling that it feels like work and that there is a life beyond it too, then probably its not the same. On the other hand, if you feel it’s a part of your life, then you can immerse yourself into it and enjoy the process like how.

D. Retirement and Money out of the Picture

Most important of all points, to define passion and to realize if it’s truly your passion or not, take “retirement” and “money” out of the picture, would you still do it?

—x—

If you can answer/relate to all of the above pointers, you can then define what you’re truly passionate about and whether what you think is your passion or not.

Now what you can do is, correlate these questions with whatever you’re doing now, and see if you’re able to answer for yourself or not. The answer is within you and no one can help you out with it except you.

The Value of Kindness

The Value of Kindness

What’s the value of a kind gesture?

It takes zero efforts to say something kind to another person – short, easy to speak and it’s not taking anything from you.

Yet, one kind gesture brings immense pleasure to the other person – you have just made their day, their month and you wouldn’t even realize it.

It might just be something that the person needed. Its impact would truly last a lifetime.

Be kind, spread kindness and witness the magic! ❤️

What is success for you?

What is success for you?

What is success for you? That is for you to decide.

Let’s put it another way – what are your goals? What do you want to achieve?

Wouldn’t you feel successful when you accomplish your goals? Yet, our “society” bases success on the achievement of a few things and everyone follows that blindly.

That isn’t a problem at all – but, only when you actually want those things for yourself and if that’s the benchmark you’ve set for yourself.

The awareness of the reality of success is important and once you change the perspective on the topic, you start thinking differently.

What Songs Taught Us #13 – Girl in the Mirror by Bebe Rexha

• What Songs Taught Us #13 – Girl in the Mirror •

Song In Focus : Girl in the Mirror
Artist : Bebe Rexha

There is a perfect image set by the society – of your appearance / your looks / your behaviour – and you’ve to act according to it.

If you don’t fit the bill, you’re always anxious of your looks and that converts into constant thoughts in your mind – which tire you and weigh you down.

This song is a perfect example of this – it’s a song about self-acceptance – it tells you to be you, be yourself and stop trying to be like everyone else.

Songs are always inspirational, and if it teaches a good lesson along with some good music – then, go for it.

Change starts with You

Change starts with You

Everyone wants to change the world, everyone wants to leave a mark, yet we forget about our own flaws and the dire need to rectify those first.

Change starts with yourself first, keep growing, keep upgrading yourself to a better version of yourself, better than before – until you reach a level where you can now bring that change to others as well.

That process takes time, but it also comes from authenticity and the courage to first do it yourself before you do it for others.

In simple terms, walk the talk.

#ChangeStartsWithYou

What do you love?

What do you love?

What is it that you love to do?

Anything in which you find happiness?

Anything in which you find peace?

Anything in which you find satisfaction?

Do that.

There’s no restrictions with what you can do or with what you should do – you should never ever settle!

Push beyond your limits – but, do the things you love.

Then, it doesn’t feel like work, it’s a purpose that you’re able to deliver on a daily basis – and there’s never a better feeling in life.

Why wouldn’t you want to do that?

What kind of change are you looking for?

What kind of change are you looking for?

There are times in one’s life when they think something’s not working out, in whatever phase of life, or are probably stuck with something that isn’t allowing them to grow.

At such times, does the point of change come up, when you have to ask yourself what kind of change are you looking for?

To add to that, even though it is about taking a decision and moving forward in that direction, the process is still difficult – because it requires patience and efforts to actually change and to get on a better path that will improve your life.

During these moments in life, you have to ask yourself these two questions – what kind of change are you looking for and is it the kind of change that you’re willing to accept?

The answer’s always within you!

There’s always a way!

There’s always a way!

What’s on your mind?

Do you want a change physically, mentally or emotionally?
Do you want to change your path?
Do you want to change your circle?
Do you want to pursue your dreams?

Find A Way.

There’s always a way, even when you think that all the doors are closed around you. There’s always a way – you just have to find it.

Know what you are looking for – do you really want it – if yes, a way shall definitely appear. You have to be vigilant enough to grab that opportunity when it arises.

However, don’t stop – don’t compromise – that’s not the answer. Keep going, keep hunting for the path – you’ll find your way!

#FindAWay

Ruler of Your Destiny!

Ruler of Your Destiny!

You are the ruler of your destiny – you get to decide when do you want to start your journey, or if you’d like to change your paths and begin the journey for another dream.

Goals change, dreams change, people change.

What if you were doing something for a long time and suddenly you decide that your interests lie elsewhere.

Does the “society” stop you from doing that?

There’s no age limits as to when one should start, when one can change their plans, when one can start planning a new dream and focusing on that.

As C. S. Lewis has said, “You’re never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream”.

Whatever makes you happy, you do that – doesn’t matter how young or old you are – there are no society benchmarks to conquer.

Why is failure looked down upon by the Society?

Why is failure looked down upon by the Society?

Why is failure looked down upon by the “society”?

Failure makes us who we are – it makes us grow and improve as a better version of yourself – it makes us learn from our mistakes – it upgrades us to a new level.

Without failure, we wouldn’t grow to a higher level – we wouldn’t feel accomplished if we hadn’t failed in the first place.

That’s the beauty of failure – a few people get to experience it – but without it, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

Then, why is it looked down upon – it shouldn’t be – we should we proud to have experienced it – because it was necessary to overcome it to become who we are.

#FailureIsPartOfSuccess

What do you feel passionate about?

What do you feel passionate about?

What makes you happy?

What do you feel passionate about?

What is it that you’re willing to do that makes you feel satisfied?

If you can answer that, you should definitely do that.

We’re here to live one life. Why not make it worthwhile?

Why settle down for something we don’t like or why struggle?

Sure, the other path might be difficult, may have obstacles but wouldn’t the journey be amazing – because it is what you love? Wouldn’t you be happy every single moment, every single day?

You have a choice.

It’s up to you.

Do more of what makes you happy.

Everything requires Practice!

Everything requires Practice!

I legit sucked at writing anything. My marks in school clearly defined that. Whether it came to writing a formal letter to our School Principal or caption writing for the clients, it was difficult to cope with, every time.

However, when I knew what to write, along with a lot of practice and mistakes, you can improve at anything and I improved at this.

After 250+ blog posts, various articles and ‘n’ number of posts created on my various profiles, I’ve finally overcome it.

Next on my list is to overcome my fear of looking at the camera lens and speaking!

All you require is a bit of confidence, practice and not to look at others and get worried with what they are doing! Also, remember that they started way before you did.

Is there anything that’s on your mind?

It always seems impossible to others!

It always seems impossible to others!

Whether you have a vision for the future, or you have set a massive goal for yourself, or you’re doing anything out of the ordinary – it always seems a bit difficult at first, in your head.

But, do you know that it always seems impossible in other people’s minds – very rarely would you get a supportive opinion, in situations like these.

Usually, its statements like, “it’s not possible at all” or “why are you wasting your time on this?”

As Nelson Mandela clearly states, “It always seems impossible until it’s done.”

It’s only when the job is done, when the mission is accomplished, does it seem possible to others.

Always remember that you need to have that will-power, that mindset, that hunger within you to get it done – you cannot expect it from others.

You do you!

Understanding the importance of Mindset

Understanding the importance of Mindset

“The mind is everything. What you think you become.” – Buddha

Mindset is Everything.
Whether it’s your routine, or your work, or your personal life, or your goals, your dreams, everything revolves around your mindset.

You need to have the right kind of mindset to move forward in life, to set the right rhythm amongst all the phases of your life, to be happy/ satisfied.

That process starts from your thoughts. Your thoughts define everything in your life.

What you think, how you think, why you think – its all important – it sets the baseline – it defines your actions and your executions.

Ultimately, you become what you think.

Which is why it’s said that you need to have control of your mind, control of your thoughts, control of that thought structure – Mindset is the most important thing in your life.

Dreams – have you forgotten yours?

Dreams – have you forgotten yours?

All of us have dreams, some achieve them, some are in the process of achieving it and some forget about them!

Let’s discuss those who have forgotten their dreams and let’s question the why.

Why have some of those people forgotten their dreams?

Why have they just let it go?

Did they try and fail and then let it go? – That scenario isn’t bad, it’s good on the contrary – that you tried.

If you just let it go – was it because
• you weren’t confident with yourself
• you didn’t get enough support
• people would have judged you had you failed
• parental pressure of getting into something else

Yes, there are situations, there are circumstances that one may not avoid – sometimes one is forced – but those who persist, and fight for their dreams, feel more satisfied than if they hadn’t.

All dreams are achievable.

Even if the end goal isn’t achieved for some reason, the process is just as beautiful. Plus you’re happy with no regrets – that you tried – you followed your dreams.

Then why wouldn’t you?

Our imperfections make us who we are!

Our imperfections make us who we are!

“What makes you different or weird—that’s your strength.” – Meryl Streep

Everyone’s chasing to be perfect, without realizing that perfect doesn’t exist.

What makes us, humans, different from each other, and at the same time, makes us unique, are our imperfections!

Those imperfections that make us” different” or “weird” is actually our strength – then why should we change it.

It makes us unique in our own way.

Love them! Cherish them! Flaunt them!

Know thy imperfections – because those make you perfect in your own way! ❤️

How does hate help anyone?

How does hate help anyone?

“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” – Martin Luther King, Jr

How does hate help anyone? How does anyone benefit from hate?

Spewing hatred towards someone only fills your own mind with negativity, not anyone else’s.

Your hate doesn’t bring the other person down, but yourself! And why would you put yourself in that position?

What’s the other option?

To love all, no matter what! Spread Love whenever, wherever!

For you, for your mind, you do the right thing – be kind, be grateful, have empathy towards the other person and spread love – you’re putting your mind in a position where nothing else should affect you!

Changing your Attitude

Changing your Attitude

“The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change their future by merely changing their attitude.” – Oprah Winfrey

Once people understand this, then they can make wonders happen for themselves!

What you think is what you become!

Your attitude towards yourself, your work, your goals, your relationships define your present and your future.

If your present is not what you want, you have the opportunity to make your future better! How? By changing yourself – by changing your attitude towards everything – by changing your perspective!

It takes time – it needs practice – you make mistakes – but that’s the process with everything, isn’t it?

So not why take the matter into your own hands and write your own future?

#LiveTheZazzLife

Levelling up to a new perspective!

Levelling up to a new perspective!

“The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.” – Muhammad Ali

What does that mean?

Well, for one, when you grow and when you keep bettering yourself, you also grow a new perspective to everything.

You start looking at things differently, you have a different viewpoint to everything than you did before.

However, it happens when you keep upgrading to a better version of yourself.

That also comes from a growth mindset.

You constantly want to level up, be a better person than before, do things better than before.

In due process, you are evolving and every day, every month and every year of your life is different than before.

If you don’t find that change, then most probably, you are standing in the same place you already were, in the same level of your life, and possibly, without any growth. That’s the fixed mentality, where you’re afraid to move on and want to be where you are forever.

Switching off and on the features of your life!

Switching off and on the features of your life!

Its time to switch on and switch off some of your life features too, daily.

Always be Kind to everyone around you, everyone. Kindness wins in the long-term.

Have empathy towards others. You don’t know what’s going on in their lives – you have no idea why they are doing what they are doing, you have no idea why they are saying what they are saying. There’s always another perspective.

Judging others never helps anyone and always wastes your time too. It’s time to grow up, stay in your lane and focus on yourself. Live and let live.

Most importantly, be grateful for everything that you have. Gratitude even for the smallest thing makes you realize it’s importance!

Switching on and off a few features of your life makes such a huge difference – you’ll be glad now and in the future that you made these changes!

5 Things to Give Up for a Positive Mindset

5 Things to Give Up for a Positive Mindset

While there are positive enforcements to add to your day-to-day, there are also negative enforcements which empower our daily lives and push our mind towards more negative thoughts and thus, a negative mindset.

Working on them and ultimately getting rid of them is the ultimate solution for the healthy mindset you need.

Here are top 5 Things to Give Up, which will definitely make a change in your life –

  • Complaining

– We often complain about the tiniest of things, thus having a problem if it’s not how you wanted instead of being grateful that you have that or you get to do that, even if its not what you imagined.
– Complaining overpowers most of our day and we end up complaining about most things we have or do rather than seeing the good in anything and everything.

  • Negative Self-Talk

– We often let others make our decisions and influence our thoughts, which unfortunately ends with their voice becoming our inner voice.
– Which ultimately leads to you doubting yourself, thinking you are not capable of something, or you cannot accomplish something you want.
– Unkind thoughts towards yourself lead the day, which inturn leads to negative actions/ results.

  • Living In The Past

– Pondering over our past actions, thinking we should have done something differently or a decision taken differently creates problems in the present and the future.
– The past cannot be changed, or altered, you have to live with every decision you make, with the path you take and live with it and not let it falter your future.

  • Over-Thinking

– One of the biggest things to start handling and ultimately giving up is over-thinking.
– Over-Thinking about what to do, how to go about anything, thinking about things not in our control – all of it creates problems in our mindset, on a micro and macro level.

  • Listening to People’s Opinions

– For everything you do, either before or after, everyone around you has an “opinion” to share.
– Usually, most of these opinions don’t matter nor are they constructive. They only hinder our growth and our decision-making.
– Listening to People’s opinions should be a priority when it comes to giving up things for a positive and a healthy mindset.

None of them can be accomplished in a day, and even when you are aware, it takes time to make it a part of your lifestyle. Practice, practice and practice is the answer – work on them one by one and let the change happen.

“Circumstances didn’t allow me to…”

“Circumstances didn’t allow me to…”

“I wanted to, but the circumstances didn’t allow me to…”

Isn’t it easier to blame everything on circumstances?

We all do it.

It’s more difficult to not let exterior events or actions hinder our progress and not let it stop from achieving what we set out to do.

The opposite is easier.

Well, the tough minds who do achieve, never blame anything or never even think of it.

Once they have the target in mind, they’ll achieve it or try achieving it, no matter what!

The mindset is important – if you want to do, then do and not let anything stop you.

What do you want to do?

You decide your Destiny!

You decide your Destiny!

Your actions in the present decide your future.

What you decide now is what you will become in the future.

Every decision matters.

It’s not about succeeding in every decision you take, but being satisfied with your decisions because they will form your future.

What you want to be or what you don’t want to be is up to you – you decide that!

No one else has that power, even if you think otherwise!

“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Living in the Present

Living in the Present

“Live in the present and make it so beautiful that it’s worth remembering.” – Arnold H. Glasow

Forget the past – forget the past mistakes – forget the past decisions if you aren’t where you want to be – learn from it though.

More importantly, Live in the present.

Make everything about today.

Conquer today.

Today matters!

Make it a day worth remembering that tomorrow you write a story about it.

It can happen – it’s up to you – your choices define your today and your tomorrow.

//QOTD – Was today worth remembering for you?

Change can happen Now

Change can happen Now

Change is the only constant in life.

Change can happen anytime you want it to happen.

Change can happen Now.

The question is, are you willing to change?

Introducing change in your life first requires you to admit that you need that change. Acceptance is a must.

Then, to implement it as a part of your lifestyle, you cannot say, I’ve changed today. The right answer is The path towards change starts today, the process is long, but I’ll keep at it and make sure the outcome is different from what it currently is.

What needs to be changed?

That is up to you to decide. Ponder over your life, where are you lacking, what needs to be different, what is it that you are not able to get, focus on that.

Yes Man – What Movies Taught Us #5

Yes Man – What Movies Taught Us #5

• What Movies Taught Us #5 – Yes Man •

Movie In Focus: Yes Man
Starring Jim Carrey, Zooey Deschanel, Bradley Cooper

The movie revolves around the concept of saying “yes” to everything – whatever comes along the way, you have to say ‘yes’ to it.

What happens if you say ‘yes’? Well, in most of the circumstances, you’d have been in your comfort zone and would have missed out on the opportunities.

Secondly, it opens doors to various other avenues you might have not thought of, with every yes, you will learn something new, you will grow, you will unlock chapters of your life which wouldn’t have been even written in the first place.

The movie conveys saying yes to everything along your way, which won’t be entirely possible, but why not try saying yes to most of the opportunities instead of doubting ourselves whether we would be capable of it or not, or whether it would take time of our day. You never know what path you walk on and what you discover.

If you haven’t given this flick a try, watch it, get inspired and try something new today.

Stroke of Luck

Stroke of Luck

All of us have our journeys, our goals, our path on which we are currently walking! There’s something on our minds that we want to achieve – either an accomplishment of a task or checking off a goal.

Although, when things don’t work out, we are disappointed, we are in deep thoughts of the reasons why it didn’t work out, we ponder over our decisions and if we could do it all over again!

However, what if life had other plans for us? What if that path wasn’t the right one for you? What if things not working out was a stroke of luck?

That is what Dalai Lama said, “Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.”

Of course, you can’t sit around and think of the ‘What Ifs’, but you can have a positive perspective over life that maybe things didn’t work out for the right reasons and maybe you need to walk another path to reach where you want to be.

To clarify, you might know your true calling but the path you thought was right may not have been the right one, which is why things didn’t work out the way you expected them to; and now it’s time to revisit that and think how you could do it differently!

What Songs Taught Us #9 – Sick Boy

What Songs Taught Us #9 – Sick Boy

• What Songs Taught Us #9 – Sick Boy •

Song In Focus : Sick Boy
Artist : The Chainsmokers

According to the artists, “Sick Boy” is a reflection of their generation and the struggles with finding identity on social media.

Drew said: “This song is kind about discovering your self-identity while living in a world where everyone posts everything they do and projects kind of a curated reality on Instagram. And that’s how we interact with one another.”

A lot of people front themselves on social media, and are living two identities, the real one and the virtual one. To garner followers and likes, they’ll portray any image they want to and post whatever gets them that engagement.

The wise thing is to beware of the fake ones and not be influenced by what they say. There are some authentic ones too, so it’s not all bad!

However, be self-aware and do what you’d like to, or want to, and not be influenced by someone else and form your own identity, at the end.

Don’t doubt yourself, and don’t anticipate people’s opinions on the actions you haven’t taken yet.

With every step you take,
With every decision you make,
Make sure you trust yourself,

//You are living your life, where you cannot rely on anyone else’s opinions and decisions, you need to trust yourself to make the right call for yourself.

After all, you have to live with that decision forever! So why not have faith in yourself that “I can make my own choices”.

What’s Right for You

What’s Right for You

Nothing is permanent and change is the only constant in life!

Your life is yours and it’s trajectory is based on the decisions you take – you’re 100% accountable.

All the rules are made up by people who have lived before you! Whether it’s about your life, your work, your relationships, your dreams – there’s no one norm around it – people did what they thought was right for them.

Others just followed them blindly!

You can change it according to what’s right for you, for your life!

6 Things to Do when you wake up in the morning

6 Things to Do when you wake up in the morning

Your mornings set up how your day will turn out to be, and your morning rituals decide how your morning will turn out to be.

If you have a cranky start to your day, the entire day’s mood will be the same. Have a positive start to your day and the entire day’s mood will be positive.

How?
These six morning rituals will help you kickstart the day the right way – they take time to become a part of your daily routine – however, once they turn into habits, the results start appearing.

A. Stay away from your screen for the first 90 minutes

  • When you pick up your phone the first thing when you wake up, instead of enjoying the morning, instead of filling your mind with positive thoughts, instead of being grateful, you are filling it with unneeded information at the time.
  • Also, how important can any notification be, work is priority, but it starts after a specific time; and if it’s not work-related, then what’s the point of checking all the notifications at that moment.

B. Make your Bed

  • There are multiple reasons to making your bed first thing in the morning, one of them is accomplishing tasks. When you accomplish this micro task, you’ve set the mood to accomplish more of such micro tasks in the day and make the day a successful one.
  • The second reason is habits creation; when you do it on a daily basis – it quickly becomes a habit. It also allows you to instill such similar habits one-by-one in order to improve your lifestyle.

C. Be Grateful

  • The first thoughts of your day, when you wake up, should be positive. Think positive, have a positive approach to your day and more importantly, be grateful for everything you have and everything that you’re thankful for.
  • Gratitude fills you with positivity and happiness – you feel thankful for eveything that you get to do, that you get to be, that you have.
  • Every morning, be grateful for at least three things that are important to you and think about it for a while before you begin with your day.

D. Drink a Glass of Water

  • Once you’ve made your bed, and with gratitude on your mind, the next important thing is to have a glass of water in the morning.
  • It, of course, hydrates you after a good sleep, secondly, flushes out your body toxins and also gives your brain fuel for the day.
  • This goes without saying that you should keep hyrating yourself on a hourly basis and have sufficient amount of water over the day.

E. Go for a Run

  • This is a choice for people, whether to go in the morning or in the evening – but it’s crucial to have some exercise during the day.
  • Preferably, morning is recommended because it kickstarts your day like nothing else, you’re charged for the entire day and you’re pumped up for your next task of the day.
  • Also, it not only gives you a physical boost, but it has an impact mentally too, helps you to clear out your mind, your stress and helps you to think more clearly.

F. Plan out your Day

  • Usually, people do this task the day before, but if you like to keep everything on a day-to-day basis, then you should definitely plan out your day in the morning only.
  • Have a clear outlook of your day, what needs to be done and what needs to be prioritised and not do things on the go, because that definitely doesn’t work out long-term.

Every day of your life is important, and every day needs to be utilised at its best. In order to do so, the best way forward is to have a good morning routine and have a positive and fresh start to your day.

Unlimited Potential

Unlimited Potential

Everyone, every human being has unlimited potential.

Potential towards what?

That takes time to know, to understand – but it also comes from experimentations.

Experiment with your life, your decisions, know your strengths, find your calling, find your true potential in life.

That will lead to living your life, with happiness and with success.

Each Day to its Own!

Each Day to its Own!

“Each day provides its own gifts.” – Marcus Aurelius

Each day brings it’s set of gifts in one’s life – in the form of – learnings, mistakes, decisions, achievements, failures and more.

For each day is its own and it’s gifts make a better tomorrow, building a better version of ourself in the process.

It’s not wrong to look at each day as a new day, as a fresh start because it allows you to do different, be different and re-build if you want to – that’s a gift in its own way!

Happiness today, not tomorrow.

Happiness today, not tomorrow.

Happiness today, not tomorrow is the goal.

You need to be happy today.

Happiness is lived, not earned or achieved.

• Loving what you do and,

• Loving the process more than the destination.

5 Major Things that negatively affect our Mindset

5 Major Things that negatively affect our Mindset

To achieve your goals – the macro goal – the skills, the talent and the execution come second.

Mindset is the most necessary element in the process – you accomplish that, and you’re on track to win the game.

However, there are 5 major things that negatively affect our mindset –

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
//If you let other people’s opinions affect you, judge everyone around you – all day long, do your activities as and when they come – not setting a routine to complete them, play the short-term game and wanting the results immediately – then how will you set yourself apart from others. How will you focus on the big picture?

Mindset – that’s the answer.

An abundance of everything.

An abundance of everything.

There can be an abundance of everything in your life, only if you allow it to be.

You control everything, you have the power to accept or deny, no one else has the control of the strings, but you.

Decide the kind of abundance you need, and focus on that. Make it your primary thought, think about it, attract it, let it manifest, but more importantly, work towards it – that’s the key.

Without working for it, practising it, sweating for it, how can anyone reap the benefits of it…

It? It can be anything whatever you seek.

The Secret by Rhonda Bryne (Review)

The Secret by Rhonda Bryne (Review)

• What Books Taught Us #3 •

Book In Focus : The Secret
Author : Rhonda Bryne

The Secret is an easy-to-read book on the Law of Attraction, what is it, how do you use it, what kind of affect does it have on your life, happiness, success, work, relationships and more, with real-life examples.

You could try to use it in the tiniest of things and believe it for yourself and then use it to achieve what you want to.

If the book had to be summed up in a few words, especially to a non-believer, it should be done in this way…

According to science and statistics, a human being has approximately 50,000 to 80,000 thoughts in a day, imagine that!

Now what do you think during this time has an impact on your actions, on what you speak, on how you react.

Positive Thoughts – Positive Actions – Positive Results, it’s as simple as that.

Of course, this is just a one-liner summary of the entire book, and there’s a lot more to uncover when you read the book, but this book is an eye-opener and should be in your books to read in your lifetime.

Accountability Matters!

Accountability Matters!

“Maturity is when you stop complaining and making excuses, and start making changes.” – Roy T. Bennett

It’s always easy to complain, blame someone or something else for any situation that hasn’t gone your way, it’s always easy to make an excuse – so the blame doesn’t come onto you.

However, that is for someone who hasn’t grown up yet, who isn’t mature yet, who still has a lot to learn.

Maturity is when you’re 100% accountable of your actions, when everything you do or say is 100% on you, no matter if it goes in your favour or not, there’s just no blaming others.

That’s the change you make, that’s the mature choice! When you’re accountable, you know you have matured.

What can one voice do?

What can one voice do?

Everyone has this one thought on their mind…

What can I do with my voice?

Should I raise my voice on a particular topic, but what if I’m the only one?

Would it make a difference?

We are a population of 7.3 billion people, what can one voice even do?

It’s better to be quiet, than to be loud and not be attended to.

However, should this be our thought process?

Wouldn’t it be better to speak your mind?

Raise your voice?

You never know the support that’s out there? The like-minded people who are ready to raise their voice with you, but they were waiting for someone to raise it first?

Plus, what’s the worst that can happen?

You support a particular topic, you put your voice to it, but you don’t get any support at all.

But, you still love it right?

Then it doesn’t matter anymore! On top of that, once everyone sees your passion and your love, they’ll automatically start backing your voice.

That’s always been the case!

5 Lessons to learn from the film, Chhichhore

5 Lessons to learn from the film, Chhichhore

With the recent shift to some quality content-driven films in Bollywood, we, as moviegoers are fortunate to have some good picks which we’re proud to watch.

These films either have a good meaning, a few good lessons to learn from, and we, as society, often don’t throw a light on them.

Chhichhore is one of them!

The movie throws a light on the student suicides that take place all over the world, including India. In our country, a student commits suicide every 55 minutes, as per statistics.

Why is this happening?

Mainly because of two reasons, one, the student, when he fails his exam (in most cases, their entrance exams and can’t get admission in the college) thinks that life is over for him and there’s nothing else left. Another reason is the parental pressure, that is felt in reality or in thought, of keeping their heads high whilst you, the student gets admission in a high-ranking college and sets the path right for your career.

The film, whilst throwing a light on this important topic, sums up the movie fantastically in the end,

“We are so entangled with the success and failures of our lives that we forget to live life itself.”

The film is a good 2 hours 26 minutes long, and some good lessons to learn during that time.

Some of them which got across to me were,

1. Tags given by the Society

The film beautifully shows that we are not defined by the tags given to us by the Society.

What matters is what tag you give to yourself.

2. Results don’t define the journey, the efforts does.

Every result doesn’t define your journey in life, it’s your efforts that you’re putting in to get those results, is what counts.

Failure is a part of life, it is bound to happen once in a while or more, during your lifetime.

What matters then, is you know that even though you failed, you had put in the efforts needed to make that a win.

3. Friends for Life

Surround yourself with such people in your life who make life fun, who support you, who motivate you, who stand by you during the darkest of times – that matters so much in life.

As life passes by, we are so lost in our work and in our careers, that we forget the bonds we have with people, that might just break if you don’t hold it strong over the years!

4. You fail in an exam, not in life

The students feel so pressurized because of various reasons, when they fail an exam. Either because of society pressure, parental pressure, career pressure.

They think that the one exam they failed, defines their entire life. It defines how their life would turn out to be.

Not thinking that there are more opportunities, more chances, more turns in life they couldn’t imagine.

Life is long, and full of failures.

One failure doesn’t define the number of times they have already won and will win in the future.

5. We prepare our lives for success, but forget to prepare it for failure.

We plan our lives in such a way, with goals, with plans to achieve those goals, with the dreams of accomplishing those goals.

However, what we don’t plan is, what if we fail?

What if we plan for everything, and yet we fail?

That is when your mental health gets affected, depression starts to seek in, and you don’t know what to do anymore.

And thus, the ultimate line at the end of the movie sums this point up beautifully, “We are so entangled with the success and failures of our lives that we forget to live life itself.”

//In the end, all I can say is, it’s a beautiful film with a lot to learn, it’s a lot of fun, a lot of laughs, you shouldn’t miss out on this one.

Change for the better!

Change for the better!

Change is the only constant in life.

Change for the better though…

However, only someone with an open mind who is willing to accept change, can actually accept change.

That comes from listening to the right people, from understanding reality, from obtaining the right information.

If you have a closed mindset, if you think you know it all, if you have the perfect amount of knowledge needed, then this post is not for you.

To upgrade to a better version of yourself, you need change in your life, for the better.

Keep accepting change, keep evolving, keep living life the way you want to, not how you’re supposed to.

Our mind is curious for the wrong reasons!

Our mind is curious for the wrong reasons!

Have we ever wondered what do we use our brilliant brains for?

Especially for the majority of the day?

Sure, you use it for your work and your skill development, but at the moment, that is still is a minority thought process of the day.

The mind has become curious towards,

  • thinking about other people and what they are up to,
  • who’s ahead in your “competition”
  • keeping with the Joneses
  • keeping with the trends and following people who provide no value to our life whatsoever.

—–x—–

We have approximately 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts in our day!

Let’s take care of what we think about!

What thoughts form the majority of our day!

—–x—–

What we think is what we become!

Persistence is a must!

Persistence is a must!

• Persistence •
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
//the fact of continuing in an opinion or course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition//
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whatever you pursue, whatever you want to achieve, there will be difficulties, there will be people or the environment or some factors that might stand as an opposing factor in your pursuit.

What takes you on the other side is persistence.

Constant persistence in your journey towards your goal and you will achieve what you wanted.

The first 15 minutes of the day!

The first 15 minutes of the day!

What if I tell you,

when you wake up in the morning,

the first 15 minutes of your day has an impact on your entire day.

Those 15 minutes decide whether you’re going to have a good day or a bad day!

—–x—–

In that initial fifteen minutes, if you think that you had less sleep, you’re waking up tired, you wish you didn’t have to work today, if you could stay in bed for the whole day,

guess what,

those thoughts have an impact on the entire day and the day’s events will proceed in that manner.

—–x—–

On the other hand, if you wake up with the thoughts of gratitude, thanking for this life that you have, that you woke up, that you have the ability to accomplish so much this day and every day,

guess what,

you have set a positive tone to the day and you’ll feel more joyful to accomplish as many tasks as possible, during the day.

—–x—–

Would you like to make a difference to your thoughts when you wake up?

That choice is up to you.

Enjoy yourself!

Enjoy yourself!

We are always in a rush…

To start the day.

To complete the task at hand.

To accomplish a goal.

However, in this process of chasing something, we forget to enjoy the process. Enjoy ourselves whilst we do whatever we do!

We are in an anxious mode of doing something, worrying about the next thing, and what about now?

What about today?

What about this present moment?

Always keep one thing in mind,

Enjoy yourself!

You’ll start seeing things from a different perspective!

All in good amount of doses.

All in good amount of doses.

The official definition of Burnout states it as a physical or mental collapse caused by overwork or stress.

Burnout occurs due to overwork or stress!

With self awareness, you need to know your limits. No amount of work or money is greater than mental health.

Of course, if you feel like putting in the time and also, because you love it then these are situations when you don’t even know what burnout means.

However, it’s not for everyone. In that case, you need to know when to start, when to stop and when to take a break.

All in good amount of doses.

Movie In Focus : Bruce Almighty

The film is about a man who complains about God too often is given Almighty powers to teach him how difficult it is to run the world.

The character Bruce Nolan played by Jim Carrey often complains about God when things don’t go the way he wanted it to be, and keeps asking God for a miracle.

The above quote sums up the movie in a beautiful manner, where the character of God played by Morgan Freeman says that people expect others, and quite often the Higher Power to provide things to them just because they ask.

In this process, they quite often forget that they have the power to bring the change they seek themselves.

Be the change for yourself and introduce it into your life, have the right mindset for what you ask, focus on it and keep working towards it and the results shall appear.

//Check out the movie to understand this in a comical manner as the movie plays out, but ensure to keep the ultimate message in mind.

//What Movies Taught Us is a series on our page Live the Zazz Life, where we share insightful learnings from the movies we watch or the songs we listen to.

Never Stop Learning

Never Stop Learning

• Never Stop Learning •
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Education is limited, learning is not.

In order to grow as a person, to evolve, to upgrade to a higher version of yourself, you need to keep learning!

Learn something
– new
– different
– and, everyday!

It could be in any form – written, audio, video – either consumption on the internet, or having conversations with like-minded people, whatever suits you best.

That’s the key – Never Stop Learning!

Walk your own path!

Walk your own path!

Only the achievements are compared, not the goals or the aspirations or the journey or the day-to-day life!

It’s simply astonishing how the society works!

The best way to move forward in life is to follow your Journey and stay in your lane!

Can’t get any simpler than that!

Celebrate others successes instead of dwelling over them!
Support them in their failures instead of enjoying them!
To top it off, walk with others instead of trying to trample them!

We are an amalgamation of

We are an amalgamation of

Who we are.

Who we become.

What we think.

Where does it all come from?

Certainly not from a bunch of books taught to us during school or college.

We are an amalgamation of every person we meet in our lifetime, every experience we have, every activity we are a part of, our conversations, what we read, what we observe around us.

It all affects us.

We are a sum total of all that.

Heartbeats

Heartbeats

Have you ever noticed how the heart beats?

It never beats in a straight line, because that would simply mean you are dead!

It beats upwards and downwards (the heart rate increases and decreases), which means the heart is beating regularly – that’s how it’s supposed to beat.

It also means you’re living.

Our lives work in the same way. However, no one notices it.

If you do the same thing everyday, without any change, for the good or the bad, it resembles the heart beating in a straight line.

Life is about ups and downs. Whenever there’s a down, it also means that you’re going to rise from it and be at the top again.

It also means that you won’t stay at the top for long, and there’ll be a down soon and you should be ready for it instead of being stressed about it or dwell about it when it happens.

Live your life the same way your heart beats!

What’s the rush to figure everything out?

What’s the rush to figure everything out?

Get a degree by 22 or before.

Choose a career by 24 or before.

Get married by 28 or before.

Retire by 45 or before.

What’s the rush to figure everything out?

We have one life, a long one with enough time to figure everything out with patience and satisfaction of taking the right decisions.

Everyone is in a hurry to do everything because others are doing so. As a society, the time limits have been set by the society and they’re followed like rules.

People often look at Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg who started at 19 or Steve Jobs at 21, yet there are others too, whom we seek inspiration from, who started their journeys at a later time –

Larry Page/Sergey Brin, Google: 25

Jeff Bezos, Amazon: 30

Jack Ma, Alibaba: 34

Reed Hastings, Netflix: 36

Charles Flint, IBM: 61

Colonel Sanders, KFC : 65

There are many inspiring people out there, the point is, everyone has their own journey, their timeline and not everything has to be figured out so soon.

There’s no rush.

Are you letting external or internal factors affect your life?

Either or both have an impact, it’s up to you, your choices define the impact.

You can be in control of your destiny.

Your choices.

Your thoughts.

Your decisions.

Define these factors and taking the first step towards changing them is the first step.

What You Think – You Attract

You can achieve anything, once you set your mind towards it.

#AchieveTheImpossible

When people around you, say it’s not possible, it should give you the energy to do it even more than before.

Improving ourselves! (A personal story)

Improving ourselves! (A personal story)

We get so entangled in our day-to-day lives, with “chasing happiness”, with “attaining success” that we are always chasing something.

When was the last time we focused on ourselves? When did we take a step back or rather stayed still and thought about us – who we are?

I was the person I’m referring to, in the first paragraph! I had been living it, without realizing the mistakes – because that’s what the society taught us, because that’s how everything is around us.

Something clicked within me, that things are going good but I’m not content with it. That its time for a change. That I’ve to change myself, in order to grow.

When you ponder over yourself, when your only goal is to learn more, about what is right – you seek knowledge and nothing else.

And in this process, you improve yourself. Improve as a better version of yourself! A 2.0, if that explains better.

With a good period of time spent on this and having realized that the process is long but enjoyable – I learnt this, the only way forward is to improve yourself and nothing else.

You can approach a negative situation with a macro positive perspective of life.

You can approach a positive situation with a micro negative perspective of life and not enjoy the positive results at all.

It all depends on you. Your perspective decides who you are and who you want to be, how you’d like to move forward in life.

You have the power to change that perspective, if you want to, if you feel it’s not in the right direction! And it all starts with your mindset!

Positivity is the route to happiness!

Your positivity can lead to your happiness and of those around you.

Be positive and see the perspective change in every situation than before!

On a path to a successful life – life also hits you with specific moments of concern, stress and problems. How positively you handle them makes you the person you are!

  • In the social media world, full of negative opinions and remarks, one positive comment cheers up a person, you won’t imagine how.
  • Showing positive support towards another person’s plans/ ideas for their future will give them the backing they need.
  • Tackling every situation with a positive attitude will provide you with a better outcome and understanding of it.
  • If you’re optimistic, there is nothing one can’t achieve – no matter how unusual or how big their dreams are.

Spread Positivity!

Weekends > Weekdays? Agree or Not?

Weekends > Weekdays? Agree or Not?

The problem is not enjoying the weekends, all of us have the right to take a break and chill for a while!

Do you know where the problem arises?

When people love Fridays and Saturdays and Sundays more than the rest of the week! When people cringe Mondays and Wednesdays and can’t wait for Fridays to arrive!

And do you know why that happens?

Because you don’t love what you’re doing on those days, and you find more happiness during the weekends when you aren’t doing it.

When you love what you do, and are fortunate enough to do it everyday, then you love all days and irrespective of the ‘weekdays’ and the ‘weekends’, all days are the same and you simply can’t wait for that Monday to arrive and start off again!

Of course, in some situations, depending person to person, I for one, love to work on the weekends too – why waste time on things I do not like where I can probably invest that time on improving myself!

Have you realized, it’s always about catching up with someone else?

Everyone around us influences us to a level to make us things we don’t know whether we’d like to do it or not.

What it should be about, is doing anything and everything out of your own choice, and for your own happiness.

Think about it, the next time you’re about to do something that wasn’t out of your own thought!

What’s the right investment strategy?

What’s the right course to study?

You’ve to do what’s right for you!

Sometimes you already know the What and the How, but without the Why, the path ahead is a bit hazy!

I’ve been going through this exact journey, of figuring out the ‘Why’ of my life. What I’ve realised is this, figuring it out takes time.

You require a lot of patience and self awareness, however, the process is quite fascinating!

If it was easy, then there would be no process, no discovery, no path and no fun!

Who are the Joneses and why you should avoid them?

Who are the Joneses?
“Keeping up with the Joneses is an idiom in many parts of the English-speaking world referring to the comparison to one’s neighbour as a benchmark for social class or the accumulation of material goods. To fail to “Keep up with the Joneses” is perceived as demonstrating socio-economic or cultural inferiority.” #Wikipedia
//
Consciously or sub-consciously, all of us are trying to keep up with the “Joneses”. Now is the time we realise the mistakes we’ve been making! It shouldn’t matter to you what the others are doing if you are satisfied with your everyday life! We fall for worldly possessions because we see someone else accomplish something and now we want the same.

Someone else means your friends, your colleagues, and even those you follow on social media. The current trend is tied in with posting every expensive stuff you buy or do on social media. Now more than ever, it’s about telling others what you are doing rather than for your self-interest!

Ask yourself three questions the next time you do anything,
1. Am I buying this product/service because of self-interest?
2. Is this bringing value to me?
3. Do you care about other’s opinions?

Achieve stuff for yourself and not for others! Think about it and STOP NOW! The only loss is yours and not anyone else’s.

You Matter.

Yes, you do. You’re here for a reason. You may not know it yet, but the journey has just started! You have time to figure everything out. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Are you living for the Weekends?

Are you living for the Weekends?

There’s a mindset ingrained in us since childhood, about working Monday to Friday and then enjoying the weekends!

Everyone hates Mondays and calls it the ‘Monday Blues’! Come Wednesday; people start talking about their Friday and Saturday Night plans. Why?
There’s no harm to enjoy the day off but first, live each day to its fullest. Maximise your potential for that particular day, and when the time comes, you cool it off!

Bars and clubs out there have started exploiting this weekend mindset and provide you with mid-week and Friday night offers. Falling into their traps, you spend thousands of hard-earned bucks on just three-four hours worth of satisfaction and luxury, only to do it the next week again. Moreover, what are you achieving out of it?

Think about it from the long-term perspective. Does that activity bring any value addition to your life? People have their own choices, but at the same time, enjoy your other days too instead of wasting them on something you don’t love; only to wait for the weekends and curse Monday yet again.

Do what you love every day, rather than waiting for the Fridays and Saturdays.

Weekends are a boon to us! How about productively executing it to achieve your goals? Work on your personal development, act on those goals we’ve been trying to accomplish, finish your side hustle project! These points only matter when you know your vision!

In the end, it’s your choice! #LiveEachDay

When do you need Inspiration?

Inspiration is not something you force upon someone; one attracts it when they need it. Meaning, only when you keep an open mindset, will you accept it and allow it to change your life.

When do you need Inspiration?
A. When you have a stagnant routine
・Without any value addition to your life.
・When you’re miserable with your everyday life.

This is the point when you look for inspiration. You desire a change in your life. You aspire to do what you love. When that happens, you’ll be content every minute of every day and not think regarding anything else.

B. When you want to grow/ expand your mindset
・When you’re performing fabulous, but you can do better. You’d like to improve.
・When you’re stuck in a specific point of your life.

This is the moment when you realise that you want a diversion in your thought process which will help you reach your destination. You want to improve in a better version of yourself.

C. When you want to learn
・You’ve limited knowledge. No matter how much you study and learn and experience, you still crave it more.
・You wish to discover more about your industry or other sectors of your interest.

This is the thought process when you’d like to learn more. You follow certain people, and you start listening to them. An endless process, one, out of which you’ll come out as a better person.

When was the last time you were asked, Are you Happy?

When was the last time you were asked, Are you Happy?

Every time you meet someone, the question boils down to, “How’s work going on?

With me, the conversation comes down to two questions, “How many clients do you have?” and “How many employees do you have?” apart from the general question above.

When was the last time someone asked you, or you asked someone, “Are you Happy?

Because, it starts and ends with that, happiness. Are you Happy in your life? Are you Happy at your work? Happiness is not a chase, but a journey, a state that we should live in every day!

Next time you meet someone, for a change, pose this question and see how meaningful the conversation turns out to be! ❤️

Are you in your Comfort Zone?

All good things take place outside our comfort zone.

If you want to transform/ improve your life,
If you have a macro goal to achieve and you can’t progress,
If you’re troubled by the daily circumstances of your life,
The answer is, ‘To get yourself out of this comfort zone‘.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’ve created this stable world for yourself, where everything is going the same way, with no growth and no improvement.

To grow, or rather, improve as a better version of yourself, you need to escape that safe place. The grass is greener on the other side!

Every day, every month and every year, the smallest amount of value that you can provide to yourself, helps in upgrading to a better version of yourself.

What about Today?

What about Today?

Regretting the past? Focusing on the future?
However, what about today?

Without conquering today, you will probably regret the past, or you won’t achieve the future goal! Why? Because we don’t live in the present.

Ask yourself again; what about today and re-think your steps!

The “Perfect” Scenario

Nothing is Perfect, and it will never be! Imperfections make us who we are! It applies to our life, personal and professional, work, relationships, everything else too.

You cannot chase after perfection, because it doesn’t exist.

As much as it applies to the macro situations in your life, it also refers to the tiniest day-to-day elements as well.

You can only accomplish something when it seems acceptable to you. Not when the time is right, or when you have to do it (external pressure), or when you feel its perfect enough to execute.
